Grey hair advice please!

My hair is below shoulder-length and a mid brown colour. It's very grey now, but not evenly; I think that if I let it grow I would be like a piebald pony. So I colour it. But colouring it brown means I have a corona of white approximately two weeks after being at the hairdressers (and the hair is really white so really gleams). I have been highlighted in the past and I think the grey roots are more hidden for longer but then of course the dark roots grow out quickly in comparison and then the grey mixed with brown looks dusty against the blonde.

I have a hair appointment later - what should I do??? I don't want to chop it all off - I like my hair but the upkeep is insane.

If you really don't want to not dye, as in you know it won't suit you, you would probably be better off going lighter, if it would suit you of course. It might take a while to achieve, but the whites won't show up as quick, and you shouldn't need it doing as often. I think they can put a few more highlights in to divert attention from the whites between visits.

If you want to kerp the length, just use nice and easy root touch up. It's brilliant and belends really well with existing colour

I began step one in my transition this month. No white root yet but greyer by the day!

I have gone from mid brown that naturally lightens in summer to having a few more highlights put in. My plan is to lighten a little more every second colour to make the transition less harsh. Aiming for pic 3.
