Most comfy walking sandals

I have back and neck issues, wore saltwaters yesterday for a day's shopping and now I can barely move today as my back is so sore.

I just sent back some moshulu's as didn't fit properly, and I've accepted that I need some functional walking sandals for when I'm going to be doing a fair bit of walking.

I didn't get on with Tevas, what brands can you recommend for not being too hideous but supportive, bungy and comfortable, and adjustable for hoof shaped feet?

I like this type of thing but I like flat ugly shoes! Fly,,Blundstone, Birkies are my usual style.

I got a pair of Merrells on holiday several years ago, wore them straight out of the shop, very comfortable so I continued to wear them almost all week. I have foot issues - I usually wear orthotic arch supports - but you can't wear them with sandals. Some of them also look relatively nice for a walking sandal, which is a bonus.

I have to say Saltwaters look the most uncomfortable things ever to me . Poor you Sad

I think Teva is the way to go for walking sandals.

Thanks, I'm going to Sports Direct in a bit so I'll look there for Merrells, if no joy I'll look at Keens online.

I actually popped into the Hotter shop yesterday and looked at the tourist but they're too narrow. They have a slight heel too (although if the flatness of salties is no good . . )

The Tourist ones are every narrow,I find a lot of Hotter ones narrow even though they're meant to be widerHmm

Millets might be another place to try or Clarks?

@Chartreuser I went to a Moshulu store yesterday and tried on about 20 different pairs. There was big variation in how comfortable they were, even slight differences between shoes of the same style (different colours) - the assistant said it was because they’re all hand-finished so not identical. If you’re anywhere near a Moshulu shop then I’d say it’s worth going and trying on a load; the ones I liked most on the website weren’t comfy at all when I tried them on - just didn’t suit my foot shape - whereas the ones I got are the most comfortable things I’ve ever fit on my feet and l’m 😍😍😍!

That is interesting about the Moshulus JointhrMicrodots

I bought these in SD, Karrimore, £28. I know they're not beautiful but they're so comfy. I'm going to make sure I always have pretty toes and find an anklet to try and detract from them, whilst also rocking a boho/traveller vibe.

Mainly I hope to be able to get up in the morning without having to get DH to push me out of bed like this morning

Have you tried Clark's or Padders? They do some with supportive padded soles

Sadly Clarks are too narrow and they don't do much in wide fit. I'll look at Padders though

Well done! I think if you have painted nails you can rock any sandal.

I had these Merrell sandals (they've been discontinued for years, now only available on Amazon etc at hugely inflated prices). They don't look like they'd be that great to wear but they're actually so comfortable. I'm thinking about these or these as I could do with replacing them, I've worn them every summer for about a decade. I literally wore them right out of the shop, all day & expected to have blisters. They were so comfortable that I did an 8 mile walk in them along the clifftops later that week.

My feet are small but wide - I usually take a size 3 wide or extra wide at Clarks.

AwdBovril I tried on the second pair you linked to today as I think they look more like 'normal' sandals than the ones I got. They are not as cushioned though, and on me the buckle was directly on my ankle bone and rubbed. I am an awkward shape though.

Maybe look at sandals that are just velcro strap then if you've got sensitive ankles.

They seem to have quite a few with thicker soles and a it less hiking style than the above.

But to be honest, comfort and no pain is more important to me on long walks!

Yeah, my Karrimor walking sandals were the best.
I also like Earth Spirit when I need something a bit less functional, but finding it harder and harder to locate them.
