Clearly the promise of sun is going to my head but I've just ordered a factor 50spf (the Body Shop daily defence) and I've slapped some moisturiser on my legs. I've got some foot cream but I should probably look at what I should actually be doing to stop them from looking like cloven hooves when I get them out.
Is anyone else prepping for sunnier times? Any suggestions of a basic pedicure process?

Thinking of doing a footner peel but need to time it carefully because of the dreaded skin she'd Envy

I whacked a foot peel on yesterday and might again tomorrow. .

Youwanapizzame · 19/04/2019 00:18

Obvs x post but I do an Amazon cheapy

wiltingflower · 19/04/2019 00:54

I've been using a pumice stone over the last few months but I've ordered Flexitol heel balm to try and help remove hard skin. I'm thinking of getting a cuticle remover too. I've not heard of a foot peel before but I've googled this and am most intrigued!

For summer prep, I am on the lookout for cotton and linen clothes for home and for some nice summer work wear. I bought Trespass sandals last year which were nice and comfy and should last another summer at least.

I need to consider suncream. I use BB cream with spf 20 but really need something higher soon for aspiration sun 😂.

I feel like having hand and toe nails painted in bright colours and all leg and armpit hair epilated makes me feel more summery and put together. It takes ages to epilate though I find the results last a while. I need to start doing this soon.

loubieloulou · 19/04/2019 01:15

I used to pumice my feet but since using this lotion daily on feet I've not had a pumice out for about 2 years. Soles of feet are as soft as a baby's bum & no sign of any hard dry skin anywhere. DP was massaging my feet recently & commented on how soft & lovely they feel. I swear by this stuff, it's kept my feet in lovely condition .....

Ooh Summer Prep Grin

I need to:
Get my Korean Italy cloths out and buff my skin , not done this for a while so I reckon there's tonnes of manky skin waiting to be buffed off to reveal the (hopefully) new and youthful skin. beneath

I always promise to have my armpits for view (if they are ever seen) so I need to look for a new epilator and stop the Ladyshave that I use in winter.

My hair is growing (from a pixie) now its collar length but needs a cut/tidy so hairdressers appointment needs booked.
Did my hairdye last week (I do that myself)

I have a Konjac sponge and some new skincare (Miscellar cleansing oil and some small bottles DD gave me)

Bought a couple of new clothes items, a linen mix top and some swishy trousers

My feet are the best part of me Grin

I need to join a Pilates class. Been talking about it for ages but not actually done it yet so that's first on my list - I need to tone up a bit.
Just started running again after a health issue, first run for a few months so feeling good about that.
For me summer means regularly shaving my legs (😣) and using a decent daily tanner on them- after years of trying them all I currently prefer the Bondi sands one but if anyone's got any recommendations I'll give them a try.
Also like to keep my toes nails painted and nicely trimmed. My feet are actually one of my favourite things about me and I quite like the look of them in sandals so love summer footwear!
Style wise first on my list is a new pair of prescription sunglasses - had the same ones for years so time for an upgrade.

loubieloulou · 19/04/2019 10:25

@Ellapaella I've been loving the Bondi Sands too! It's the only one I dare use on my face, leaves my face like natural golden tan.

I've just ordered this skinny tan deal, buy 1 get 2 free due to them changing the packaging, I got a free mitt too. I love the bondi sands but thought I would give the skinny tan a go. Here is the link for the offer if you are interested

Game changer for feet!

I echo the Newton's Chiropody sponges - super cheap and work absolute miracles! One use alongside foot cream can get my feet from hard, scaly and dry to soft, smooth and presentable. Much easier (and less messy) than the foot peel.

gotmychocolateimgood · 20/04/2019 01:32

I've been using my lumea to tackle body hair and the next thing is sorting out summer clothes and putting winter coats and clothes away.

Going to paint my toenails a nice summery colour too.

HolyShmoly · 20/04/2019 09:25

Ooh lots of tips, thanks. I've just splurged on a personal stylist to tell me what to wear so I'll need to buy some basics off the back of that and make sure they are summer appropriate. I never trust the hot weather to last so I don't really buy summer clothes and last year I was heavily pregnant or recently postnatal so nothing will fit from there.
Hmm, I hadn't thought about epilating. Does it save time in the long run?

I immediately thought of Footner when I saw your post!

Ive been using a podiatrist’s file for a month now but my heels are still cracked so footner it is.

Im shredding and low carbing too as well as using a glycolic peel on my face and body.

Im getting IPL on my face too.

Then I’ll start with my Philips Lumier again.

Jesus christ that’s a lot of prep! Grin

Sigh81 · 20/04/2019 09:36

I will join! I third the chiropodist sponges, have been using all winter (so my feet look nice for Pilates classes) and they make such a difference.

This week have ordered a gigantic sun hat, some proper Factor 50 for my body and stored away winter clothes.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 20/04/2019 09:41

Just ordered the Newton sponges because of the recommendations here, already have O’Keefes foot cream which I like.

I’ve been using a facial gradual tan, for some reason my body is far darker than my face, body is quite light olive whereas my face is pale.

ZazieTheBruce · 20/04/2019 09:53

Did a footner copy the other day. Also bought some cheap n cheerful Superdrug foot mask booties for regular foot upkeep. Like the Marula oil one and the charcoal one.

Have booked a gel pedicure for mid-May, ditto a haircut. Recently went from bra strap length to collarbone length, but quite fancy going a bit shorter. I can see it being a full-on pixie by the end of the summer, but maybe jaw length and chin length will be the way stations in between. Considering booking a make-up lesson to get new ideas to suit short hair.

Started going for runs regularly at start of March and been watching what I eat. Lost 1/2 a stone so far. Having Easter weekend off scoffing crisps and chips with mayo, then plan to kick it up a notch after, probably IF 10:14 and moderate carbs.

Consulting a nutritionist on Tuesday for medical reasons (IBS) but hopefully that will help too.

30 Day shred is a great idea, might do that in June (holiday away is in July). Starting a new weights regime on Tuesday focussing on glutes and hamstrings so I don’t overwork the quads when running and end up twanging my ITB again.

Been meditating regularly and hopefully that will help me Zen back into doing some yoga a couple of times a week so I have some stretching in the mix with running and weights.

Ordered some Shea butter for a body moisturiser last week and also have some facial sunscreen samples to try.

Seems like a lot just for summer, but my dad passed away a couple of years ago and it’s been just the bare minimum for a while.

Sigh81 · 20/04/2019 10:03

Am also tackling the ironing pile today. Have loads of beautiful blouses and shirts but always go for the same, don't-need-ironing ones.

I feel that this also counts as getting ready for summery weather 😄

idoliketobebesidethesea · 20/04/2019 10:05

Oh fgs!! I tried to post that last night and it said it didn't post!! I am truly not some sort of a foot scrubbing weirdo! I feel like reporting myself...sorry for multiple posts 🤦‍♀️

HolyShmoly · 20/04/2019 14:00

@Idoliketobebesidethesea I'm looking for a game changer for my feet - any recommendations? Grin

@70isalimitnotanage what do the Italy cloths do? Can I get them on amazonbay?
Going dairy free for DDs cmpa has resulted in me being slimmer than normal so thankfully no diet required but core is still shocking, so getting that sorted is a non summer specific goal.

Sigh81 · 20/04/2019 20:31

Just scrubbed with the Italy cloths, after body brushing and used my chiropodist sponge.

The Italy clothes require you to have soaked in a bath for about 15 minutes. But they are amazing for sloughing off all the old skin!

HolyShmoly · 20/04/2019 21:05

Ok Italy cloths, o'keefes foot cream and chiropedy sponge now on their way.
Must make sure I actually stick to a regular routine!
Next, my wardrobe...
