Looking for a good budget foundation

For everyday wear, that gives decent coverage, won't clog pores and looks natural

L'Oreal Pro Glow is good.
I also love Maybelline dream satin liquid and repeat purchase.
Bourjois Health Mix is good and often cited as a holy grail for a high street foundation but the colours are very limited and a bit yellowy and I can't find one that matches me.
I'm reading very good things about CYO foundations and will definitely try them.

UserN0me · 18/04/2019 19:09

Suprisingly primark foundations are actually really good and less than a fiver

Destinesia · 18/04/2019 19:27

Also heard good things about the CYO longwear foundation but not tried it out yet.

Revolution conceal and define

Cat0115 · 18/04/2019 21:33

Aldi own brand. Lacuna I think. I bought some on impulse last week because I was getting the moisturiser after a recommendation on here. Works a treat... Also has a concealer with it.

thesunwillout · 18/04/2019 21:37

The new mua one at Superdrug, it's on offer at about £4, my dd is a make up hoarder/expert and I always respect her 'finds'!
The concealer is £2.
I used it the other day on my 40 year plus skin and it's very good.
Doesn't sit in the lines, doesn't dry out.
Very blendable.

I'm so glad you posted this op.

I was going to start my own thread, and still might do anyway.

I have been looking for the perfect foundation for 30 years and never quite hit the mark.

Chanel Vitalumiere comes closest for me, but I've never really been able to find exactly the right shade and anyway it isn't exactly budget.

So, the other day I was getting ready to go out and my daughter's foundation was on the bathroom shelf right in front of me and I thought what the hell I'm going to give this a try.

I swear it is the perfect medium coverage foundation! Light and blendable but with good coverage for my rosacea and dark circles and open pores and everything else. I felt like a new person wearing it, I really couldn't believe how perfect it was.

Wasn't perfectly obvious from the bottle where she bought it the writing was too small for me to read without my specs on. So I asked her.

It only came from ...

Primark!

Iwantamarshmallow · 18/04/2019 21:45

Revolution pro foundation drops is my favourite

radioactiveimagination · 19/04/2019 07:59

Thanks for the replies. I've never heard of revolution, is this brand available in boots/Superdrug by any chance?

I'm saying Primark too. The double wear copy in the glass bottle for a fiver. Very good coverage and lasts pretty much all day, but I don't find it drying.

Cheekyfeckery · 19/04/2019 08:20

Ooh I’m going to Primark today - thanks OP for this thread and the recommendations - been meaning to sort this for ages. (Didn’t even know they did make up).

Beanybye · 19/04/2019 09:34

You really can’t go wrong with the Boots number 7 foundations. They’re all under £20 and they have ones to suit every skin type. They use a colour matching camera thingy too.

HundredMilesAnHour · 19/04/2019 09:57

Flower Beauty by Drew Barrymore's foundation gets rave reviews. Only available from Superdrug in the U.K. but seems to be online rather than in their shops. I've tried the concealer and it's excellent but haven't been able to try the foundation as my shade is out of stock grr.

DottyP · 19/04/2019 10:08

The new Boots No 7 hydraluminous foundation. I’ve used all the expensive foundations - Chanel, Dior, Estée Lauder, Bobbi Brown but this is amazing and £15. It blends so well, feels lovely on the skin and good coverage but very natural.

YesQueen · 19/04/2019 10:32

CYO lifeproof for me.
I have everything from Chanel to Lancôme to Rimmel and this beats them all. It even just has the edge over the no7 hydraluminous

radioactiveimagination · 19/04/2019 11:16

Thanks everyone! Seems like there's a lot of amazing budget options out there! I have been using a boots no 7 one for everyday (use a Lancôme one for going out out) which I've been fairly happy with but wondered what else was out there. I might try primark or revolution. Thanks

I agree with the pp about CYO,it's excellent.

sunshineandshowers21 · 19/04/2019 16:11

i’ve tried dozens of foundations over the years and my absolute favourite is a £5 revolution one from superdrug. it’s the fast base stick foundation. the coverage is amazing and it lasts ages!

WeMarchOn · 19/04/2019 23:28

I currently use Younique with Estée Lauder primer, i can never find my perfect match but at £30 for foundation i would like to find something cheaper 🤞🏻🤞🏻

piefacedClique · 19/04/2019 23:31

I bought a brilliant bb cream from home bargains. The packaging looked like the Holly Willoughby L’oreal? one and it’s brilliant: I rarely wear make up and everyone comments that it’s really natural when I do.

pinksquash13 · 19/04/2019 23:45

I like Rimmel 25 hour.
