Renting maternity wedding guest dress

I’m going to a friend’s wedding in August, when I’ll be about 7 months pregnant. It’s the only properly dressy thing I’m planning to go to whilst pregnant, so I don’t really want to spend loads on a fancy maternity dress I’ll only wear once. I thought about renting one from Girl Meets Dress and saw this:

Has anyone had this dress and do you think it would work on a 7 months pregnant 5 ft short woman?

Or has anyone used that website and had a good or bad experience?

Or any other bright ideas?!

Thanks Smile

That dress looks lovely but I'd probably get myself in a right tangle trying to fix the straps. I bought a Seraphina maternity dress on eBay to wear to a friend's wedding last summer, it was about £7 all in. There are bargains out there.

Yes, I'm also a bit concerned about the straps, especially if it only arrives the day before and I can't spend ages practising Grin

I got a maternity bridesmaids dress from ASOS which was lovely but would be suitable for a guest. Think it was about £40. Would your dress hire be less than that? Or yes eBay etc would be good, I doubt the majority of pregnant ladies are at a lot of fancy dos so anything second hand is probably in lovely condition!

ASOS have lots of suitable ones for under £40, which seems to be the cost of gore on the link you posted. You could always eBay it afterwards and recoup some of the cost too.

By the time you've paid to rent the dress, clean it and send it back, it would be cheaper to buy one.
I loved having my baby bump and found you can get some really nice dresses to compliment the bump. I even found that non maternity dresses in a bigger size fit well too.
