Concealer for people who don’t wear make up?

Advice needed! I don’t wear make up, never really have and don’t intend to start wearing a full BUT I do want to make a bit more effort with my appearance.

I don’t want to wear full foundation but am prone to a few small red spots that I’d like to cover. Only problem is I have no idea where to start! Is it acceptable to use concealer if I’m not then covering it with foundation? Or will it look really obvious and a bit silly? I don’t have a clue about make up!

Also I like to stick to natural ingredients (as much as possible) so if anyone can recommend any brands that would be great.

I get on brilliantly with Maybelline's magic eye eraser. It's great. I wear it on a bare face around my eyes and on spots.

I use a concealer in a 'lemon' colour to counteract a bit of redness, and often don't put anything else on my face (just a bit of mascara and a lip gloss).

The concealer is by Collection, it's called Lasting Perfection Correction Concealer and its £3.99 in Superdrug (great reviews on the website if you have a look). I use a make up sponge rather than my fingers to apply it, it wasn't as good without the sponge. Worth a try, it really makes a difference for me. I recommend it all the time!

You can also use foundation with a concealer brush to cover imperfections as you can let dry and build up if need be without getting a cakey looking patch.

Yes I second the Collection concealer - good value for money and not too heavy / cakey.

Another yes for Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer! I regularly wear just this and some mascara, applying the concealer on my chin (to cover acne redness/scarring), under the eyes and a bit to cover the redness on my nose. It's not only an amazing concealer, but also super affordable which is great if you're just wanting to dabble in make up!

I use the collection under eye one too, I wear it with foundation and powder for work and on it's own for days off

Oh and to apply I push it into the skin with a real techniques buffing brush, rather than wiping it on, as I personally find it gives a more natural and even finish.

Brilliant thank you, I’ll go and see if I can find it in my local Superdrug tomorrow!

Clinique's anti-blemish solutions foundation works really nicely as a concealer, and it will help heal any spots you have, if that's what you want to cover. I never put it over my whole face.
