Truly awful hair

What can I do with my dreadful hair?

It’s really getting me down. I used to have highlighted hair but it was too damaging to my hair so I’ve since grown it out. But I don’t feel like “me” without blonde, I feel old, and dreadful. I’m only 33 but my self esteem is truly at an all time low.

I used to have it highlighted so it was very light baby blonde. But it was so damaging as my hair is so fine.

I think your hair is lovely.

If you want it blonde though could you handle a pixie so you don’t have to worry about it getting damaged?

It’s not dreadful at all!

If you are missing the highlights, get them done again! A good hairdresser shouldn’t damage your hair. Ive been having highlights for nearly 20 years and my hair is in good nick. You just need a good conditioner and styling products. They can do highlights with toner rather than bleach which is much less damaging to your hair.

Thank you everyone. You’re all very kind.

Maybe blonde and short might be the way to go.

Maybe you just fancy a change? If going livhtwe was damaging why not try henna or something to update your colour and condition your hair at the same time? I think a coppery colour would look great especially with a slightly shorter sleeker bob a la Christina Hendricks.

I think your hair is a lovely colour. I think that blond can look a little cold on some people. Perhaps just give it a different style? Also think about a good shampoo and conditioner for fine hair.

That red bob pp posted would be STUNNING.

Also when I tie it up I’ve got lots of baby re-growth which just looks dreadful too.

I'd definitely go for a good chop. My hair was so much like yours! Even down to the colour (going blonde to ginger). Annoying whispy bits etc. I think we must have been separated at birth 😂 I suffered with alopecia for a year or so (brought on by stress and deficiencies) and in the end I shaved it off 😯 however it did my hair the world of good. Got a blonde. pixie crop now, is so much better. Look at some short styles on Pinterest.

Thanks french. Do you have any pics you wouldn’t mind sharing for inspiration? I really don’t think I could carry off a short style.
