*Super* high waist - help!

I've been meaning to write this post for bloody months.
My work/day wardrobe is non existent for a few reasons and it's really getting me down as we are moving out of 'black tights' season.
I appreciate my following comments sound like I'm being harsh on myself but I'm really not.. I'm rational about my body but I am literally down to next to nothing outfit wise.

I have a really, really high waist and big belly. I am also 'blessed' with legs I really don't like to be seen. Cankles & lumpy varicose veins.
Due to high waist and belly I wear a lot of dresses which I always akwats wear with thick black tights. I simply cannot find trousers that fit neatly due mainly to waist. Fastening below my large stomach isnt an option.
Can anyone reccomend any tried and tested high waist options that really are?
Or any ankle length skirts?
I'm 5ft8 and a size 16 in dresses and anything that bloody fits in a trouser!
At my wits end.. TIA

Have you thought about long tall Sally? Whilst they may well be too long the cut from waste to crotch is longer proportioned, so would that help?

I too suffer with an apple shape and prefer dresses. I have really long legs too so finding long enough trousers is my issue. I've found that trousers and a looser top/ shirt, almost tunic style can be flattering, but only if the trousers are quite slim fitting. I do prefer cropped on the ankle, which is quite lucky as that's how most come up on me!

I feel your pain ❤ I wish I had your height though. I'm a size 16 and 5ft 3. I also have varicose veins and a big, hangy belly due to two c-sections. I'm living in leggings and shift dresses and maxi dresses. Also looking for high waisted jeans so following with interest x

If it helps @dreamyflower I have found Tu at Sainsburys jeans to be the best for belly room! I don't wear jeans much as they are never flattering on me but these are stretchy and comfortable.

M&S Roma rise?

Topshop joni is a super high waist I believe. You might have to order online though as they never seem to stock anything above a 12 in store.

Levis Mile High skinnies are brilliant

Toast elasticated waist trousers are low crotch and look much better than they sound. I also have legs like corned beef and Toast are the only ones to make comfortable and stylish trousers that I've found...

Redorangeyellowgreen · 18/04/2019 22:37

I'm similar to you with the very high waist (although I'm more of a pear than an apple). The problem I then have with most trousers is that the waist to crotch length is too short which is...uncomfortable Blush

Long tall sally is an interesting idea though, might try that. Easy enough to take up the hems if the legs then end up too long.
