Curl dropping from curly hair

I have naturally curly hair, it’s always had a pretty strong curl with varying degrees of frizz depending on condition but recently it’s barely been holding a curl at all - it looks sort of wavy but not the almost corkscrew curl it once had.

I’ve not changed my hair care routine, the only change is using a semi permanent colour at the hairdressers, the only medication im on is an anti depressant and at 48 I’m probably peri menopausal. Would any of those change my hair curliness?

DH used to have really curly hair, but it stopped being so curly in his early forties and now it’s barely even wavy (he’s 47). It’s an age thing, I think. Sad

Ah bugger, I’ve never wore my hair straight - it’s that horrible not quite curly not really straight way, will need to play about with it and figure out how it work now..,

jellycatspyjamas · 14/04/2019 20:51

I have but I don’t think I did it right so am going to try again this week and hope it injects a bit of life into it.

Don't get over invested in it , just get a cheap silicone free shampoo and curl creme . I still use shampoo , and then plop my hair for about 15 minutes before I diffuse upside down .. it is sooo curly compared to with silicone that's enough .. it took me ages to find the right combination though so keep trying .

Mine has got curler as I've got older.

I picked up a cantu starter kit from Amazon and nabbed one of ds2's old t-shirts from the charity shop pile and I can't believe just how curly it's got!

I’ve had a look at the long curly girl thread here so cheap shampoo and conditioner and curl cream all silicone free - it’s so odd to have semi straight hair, hopefully the curl will come back.
