Everyone was so helpful on the other thread and the op looked fab when her hair had been done so I was hoping that you could help me out too.
I just feel so unkempt all of the time and am bored of the same hair cut.
My hair was last cut into an inverted bob but has grown out. Before that it was just long and layered.
It is very thick and frizzy without straightening and grows quickly.
I am mid 30s and wear glasses and have zero sense of style.
I would love some help if anyone is up for it.

The colour is a bit flat.

What about some layers and some warmth added?

I meant to say in the first post. I can’t do a fringe as it just doesn’t grow that way. I have tried to train it across but it just doesn’t work.

I know what you mean about the colour but I am hoping to avoid dying it for as soon as possible as I know that I will be utterly crap at keeping on top of it.

The picture posted above is lovely and is a balayage effect, if you had that done then it would be fairly low maintainence as it grows out quite naturally.

Personally I think your colour may be what you dislike over the cut. Not sure if it’s the lighting, but your hair looks darker through the ends/back and it looks a bit brassy. Might be worth having your natural colour dragged out a bit through the roots and then balayage the rest to clean up the colour - it’s a low maintenance style as your regrowth will blend in so you can leave like 6+ months between colour appointments.

I think a true middle part would look nicer. A blunt cut too to keep the ends looking healthy and full. I personally like long bobs.

Or get a full head brunette colour?

Justanotherbadhairday · 13/04/2019 22:45

Thank you. I will have a think about dying it. I have never coloured it before so am a bit nervous about it.

I do like the above cut but I’m not sure that the front of my hair would do that and the front of the bit that I really like. Confused

I wouldn't dye it, it's just the low resolution photo that makes it look flat. In real life natural hair will always be less flat than even the most expertly done dye job.

Is it over straightened? You say it's thick and frizzy? Have you tried the curly girl method to see how curly or wavy it is naturally is if it's in good condition?

Haircut wise it depends on how radical you want to be. A lob will sharpen it up if you want to keep straightening it and don't want too radical a change. Or you could go wild! With your oval face shape and reasonably thick hair with a bit of a wave a good hairdresser should be able to do anything with it.

Could you afford the dyson airwrap? My hair is always styled now I have that as it takes the same time as a standard blow dry and looks a million tones better.

Justanotherbadhairday · 15/04/2019 10:37

It maybe is a bit over straightened. It’s not so much curly or wavy. It’s hard to explain, lots of body, doesn’t lie flat and all sticks together. Looks a bit 80s around the crown and a bit spaniel eary around the sides.
It’s been a good year since it was cut though and looked okish until recently. I would just like to look a bit more polished and done, I think.
I can’t afford an air wrap unfortunately. I did try a big hair but that didn’t help.

Thank you again for all of the ideas.
