About the “what I am wearing today” thread

Just been reading through it and now I feel you like I need to try harder! Or maybe it’s just that things sound better written down...

millythepink - so jealous of your pedicure - I need to book one!

I think I look quite cool today but as my outfit includes the word "treggings" (almost as hideous as the word "moist"), I will not be divulging.

I'm on that thread and wish people would post pictures of their outfits. I love seeing individual style in real life on real people. I'm far more likely to purchase an item of clothing if I've seen someone in real life wearing it and I like it than on a model with totally unrealistic/unachievable body shape.

I always wonder if they're a load of bollocks.

Thing is, I read threads like that and get ideas for what to wear.

If I saw how it looked on other people, I might not find it that inspiring!

Today I’m wearing a Mets baseball T-shirt (dh’s) Gap hipsters, and cat fur. I generally try harder but in bed with a cold, so don’t care.

I think it may have been Ella in the boyfriend jeans that has inspired me to find a pair of jeans that fit me properly. I am alot older and won't look that great, but they looked like 100% cotton. Whether they actually are or not I am going to get an all cotton pair.

I'm wearing black leggings and a navy boohoo top that's been dyed with bleach 😂

I’m wearing my grey and cream Joules Breton with high waisted dark Levi’s, and toning charcoal grey Stan Smiths.

(Joules 30% off sale, jeans bought on eBay and taken up because I’m a chubby -well, fat actually - shortarse, complemented with dog hair and mud. Trainers half price, plus bought with daughters student discount on top, and looking particularly gorgeous with my favourite brightly coloured Tesco watermelon socks 😂)

I’m more together today than usual as I’m meeting daughters boyfriend’s mum for coffee. You wouldn’t want to know about most other days....

I think it’s also because when you imagine what people describe you picture it in a way you find stylish and in a way to fit your style but when you see it in someone else’s idea it just doesn’t work for you.

I think this puts it really well. Also it's a self selecting sample - presumably people who hate their outfit that day are less inclined to post.

I am wearing black skinny jeans and a grey jumper today. That sounds like it could be chic like whatsgoingon but actually I'm off work after an op so it's a massive grey mildly stained sweatshirt. Sexxxxxy.

I'm cold! Black jeans, black boots, pale blue jumper and scarf, grey coat.

Might only be jeans and t shirts in the majority of pics that I personally posted but that's what I wear most days.

I was enjoying that thread, but take the point that it’s irritating without photos and am not going to post again! I post outfit pics on Instagram often and follow a lot of outfit-post accounts, but wouldn’t want to put pictures on here.

Thanks ella that is kind of you. I feel a bit weird thinking the thread is pissing people off! The only other thread I regularly post on is the perfume one, which has been going for so long we are like a bunch of old pals now.

That'll be jumper 'n' jeans then, love, like thousands of other people wear. Utterly unremarkable in reality. The only way it'll look as expensive as it sounds is if the wearer is a supermodel.

I am on the thread: love seeing other people's outfits and where they have got things from. I agree that pics are better (so I am posting photos) but I enjoy just hearing about other people's outfits too!

I too am always honest. But I am pretty dressy most of the time (love clothes - my one vice!).

I wouldn’t post photos as I’d worry they would be too outing.

I don't see the virtue in wearing stained t shirts or bobbly jogging bottoms.
