And then you think “maybe I should buy the same in a different colour”! Trying to resist as I really don’t need more clothes but just bought a dress from Uniqlo that I really love.

I like it! I’m short and dumpy though so I’d look like a paisley sack of tatties.

I appreciate that we all have different tastes, which is good, but if you are petite, doesn't this swamp you like a sack? I know you said belted but on the model it resembles maternity wear.

I often buy multiples of the same item if I really love it and also in different colours, I even trawl eBay looking for long lost/fallen apart items that I loved.

I bought 5 of the same dress in different patterns, 3 floral, one leaf print and one khaki. There is one I wear loads and the others not so often. But I'm glad I got all 5.
I also have a jersey dress that I have a blue and light grey in, in 2 different sizes. They are just easy casual things that can be worn day to day.

I’ve just bought a second cream H&M cotton sweater as it’s a fantastic shape to wear with wide crops. Dd1 (19) also said it looked really good on ( a very rare compliment).

My advice would be to multiple buy. I bought 3x pairs of yellow jigsaw cropped jeans last year and was glad I did. The first pair soon had tomato purée on the leg. They have been duly demoted to housework / gardening jeans and I have 2 spares

Hmm. After reading your OP I was all set to say buy it in every colour!!! But having seen the dress I'm sorry I think you should return it maybe 😬 not keen I'm afraid!
