The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser

Has anyone tried this yet? Although I don't think it's been out long.

I'm a bit obsessed with The Ordinary at the moment and want to put another order in but the products are so cheap you have to buy a few to qualify for free delivery Grin not that I'm complaining!

I was looking for a thread on this yesterday. I received mine from Cult Beauty this week. I’ve used it for a day and a half so far so a bit early to tell yet. You have to rub it between your hands for a while to get the oil consistency otherwise you can’t easily massage it into your face and it seems to rinse away easily.

I ordered two bottles and a moisturiser, which I also haven’t used before, to get free delivery.

SorrelForbes · 11/04/2019 16:48

I've been using mine for about a fortnight. It's OK, nothing special really but I'll probably include it in my next order to make up the amount to qualify for free delivery!

I'm glad other people had the same problem! I wasn't blown away by the Moisturising Factors but it might be better if I layer it up with the Rosehip oil, which I really like.

Is the cleanser meant to be like a Pre cleanse make up remover?

If you don't mind me asking, which of the products have you both been enjoying?

I love the marine hyaluronics, it makes my skin feel way more moisturised under any moisturizer. I also like the amino acids and B oil. The vit c emulsion is good too.

I have the new cleanser, it's alright.

I have loads of little bottles, I'll see what else springs out when I get home 😁

Was not overly impressed with the buffet, and haven't got to grips with the retinoids yet.

ParadiseLaundry · 12/04/2019 08:36

Well I've added Marine Hylauronics (or Marine Hydraulics as I first misread it as!) to my list now Barren, even though I don't really need it.

I was thinking of trying Buffet too, what did you not like about it?

Dying to try retinol as I think it will help with my acne/scars but I'm pregnant at the minute so that one's on hold for now!

I have quite a collection and use loads each day. I'm a big fan. I have really looked after my skin since being a teenager (wear 30+ SPF every day for example and never leave my makeup on at night!) and only have a few lines. However, I have definitely noticed a positive difference over the last couple of years with using TO. At the moment, I'm using:

AM
Squalene Cleanser in the shower
Argireline Solution 10% around my eyes and mouth
“Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1%
Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA

PM
Cleansing wipes (bad I know!)
Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
NIOD Fractionated Eye-Contour Concentrate
Retinol 1% in Squalane
Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone
Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA

Once a week in the evening after cleansing I use AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution (I love this!)

It wasn't so much that I didn't like buffet, I just never really saw any benefits from it. Whereas the marine hydraulics I noticed very quickly, shove some on under any old moisturizer and my skin feels way more hydrated

I’ve just bought some Ordinary products this week because I’ve been looking to step up my skincare. I’ve bought retinol 0.5%, niacinamide (think my skin likes this because it’s in the M&S sleep cream I love), Matrixyl and vit c suspension.

The confusing thing is knowing what you can and can’t mix. I’ve read so much online and it’s so contradictory.

I haven’t tried the cleanser @ParadiseLaundry but Squalane is derived from olives so I would personally use it like an oil or cream based cleanser, as step one of a double cleanse.
