Keratin treatment - really greasy?

I had keratin treatment last summer, in order to control the ridiculous frizz rather than for straightening. It did a good job with the frizz but it had the effect of making my hair really gross and greasy. So much so that after a month I went back to using my old shampoo and therefore striped the keratin out. I just couldn't bear the feeling I'd been rubbing lard into my hair! I'm desperate to get the frizz sorted again. Is there some way of having the keratin treatment without the lasting 'ick'?

Sounds like the keratin shampoo and conditioner/ post treatment you are using is too greasy. What was it?

I used Keratin Complex now and I've found it better than other products which can make it feel greasy.

This was the shampoo brand:

I bought it because it's what the salon said to use. I guess it made my hair so bad because it's moisturizing? Which brand would you guys recommend?

Hi OP, I get regular keratin treatments and have used Maui before - their conditioner in particular is quite heavy and I've that greasy feeling as well. I use Mixed Chicks shampoo and leave-in conditioner and recently I also bought OGX Renewing Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner followed by the Mixed Chicks leave-in one. I've had great results with all of those, perhaps give them a go and see how you get on?

Thanks, that's brilliant! I'll give it another try then!

My hair is quite fine and I found that keratin treatments just weighed my hair down, making it look limp and greasy rather than sleek and shiny. I prefer protein based treatments instead.

I used the Kerastase sulphate free ranges (aura botanica and the pink colour protect range)
