I’m reading that as the announcement will be made days after the baby’s arrival. How will they keep it a secret though? It must be a home birth to even attempt keeping it a secret.

Confusing matters even more, there are suggestions palace officials nearly revealed Meghan’s recent baby scare to the world. Last week an eagle-eyed royal fan screengrabbed what appeared to be an official statement tweeted – and quickly deleted – by Kensington Palace, announcing that Meghan had been admitted to the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in the early stages of labour.

I got that from ITV royal reporter Chris Shipp's Twitter, but apart from that, I know nothing. I agree though, think it's either here or veeerrrryyyy close.

I'm so disappointed at that notice! I definitely read that as: you'll hear about it a week post birth, so don't bother asking.

It's like, we'll take the spotlight and the money when we want it, otherwise bugger off.... am I being harsh?

Love that the people who read the daily fail are absolutely frothing that she’s not having a hospital birth!
I completely agree that at 6hours post birth she should still be snuggling and skin to skin and not having spent 3 hours in hair and makeup.

Just to add ... I don't think a photo is necessary at all (the makeup and hair thing is silly, Meghan should stay in bed as long as she wants) ..just an announcement within a few hours post birth would be nice?

Well I guess if they want to keep the birth news private for some time means they won’t have to stick with announcing the birth on the exact day?

Would be such a shame if they don’t do the the whole pinned announcement , town crier with the bell, thing, I remember the excitement of Prince George’s birth, It was all over London .

They are entitled to some privacy but this is ridiculous. In return for status, deference, wealth and privilege there are some things you have to accept, and letting the public know when the baby is born is one of them.

I think not doing the hospital photo s within hours of birth is fair enough. I think they should share the name and a photo with not much delay.

Elllllle just an announcement wouldn't work though because media would be trying to get a photo of the baby by any means necessary. That is why Will & Kate did the soon after birth on the steps thing because once the media know baby is on way or born they will stop at nothing to get the first photo.

Frankly I don't blame them for wanting sometime privately as a family - yes they are royal but they are still human. Plus what difference does it make to the public whether the first public photo is 6hours post birth or 6 days? It's still going to be a tiny newborn for us too coo over the photos of.

Why should they share the details immediately? Not sure any civic list payment includes sharing s picture fame day. Lots of people have take great pains to point out Meghan and harry's child is low on the totem pole, but conversely demanding their due to have a gander at the baby.

I want a picture too, but really how no photos are released for a couple of weeks. A month to really whip up the daily mail's conspiracy theorists.

I'm glad Caroline has a lovely family- she had some awful times in her life. The murder of her father and uncle and the tragedy of John and Carolyn in the plane crash.
