Go to a No7 counter and get colour matched. They will recommend a load of lipstick colours for you, including reds. Their colours are very wearable and not drying and reasonably priced (tenner)

Mac dozen carnations (I think) 'creme sheen' formula - nice coral red, light coverage.

Lipstick Queen Eden is the perfect red lippy.

Clinique Liquid powder is easy to wear and once you blot it’s like a stain.

Bobbi Brown have tons of good ones, Cherry and Regal from the Crushed collection are good.

Nars Gypsy is sheer and wearable.

Chanel do good reds, in many different formulations, try any counter to find one for you.

Rimmel 510 Mayfair Red Lady (in a purple tube) Love it. Not drying either.

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy range is really comfortable to wear and good quality - I am not so sure about the mattes, but the main range is great. For mattes I like Dior but that's just me.

BUT these are £££ and I only allow myself to spend on them because I am too plump to find clothes shopping enjoyable. At a saner price point I'd look at the Rimmel Kate Moss colours, I've heard they are really good.
