Botox

I'm on a bit of a make over mode. And I'm seriously considering Botox as my skin has been wrinkled so bad due to (stupidly) excessive sunbed use in the past.

Has anyone had Botox and are they happy with the results? I'm a little nervous!

Thanks

Yes, I've had it and it works. I had deep forehead lines that my makeup settled into. Three sessions of Botox over 18 months and they were gone. I now have one session a year so that the lines don't come back. Nurses offer Botox services quite cheaply nowadays but I'm not sure how much training they get so I go to a doctor. If you are nervous about it going wrong, it can sometimes happen but it is fixable.

Thank you for your response. I assumed one session would get rid of the lot!! I know you need top ups but didn't realise it could take a few sessions to get desired results.

How was your face post injection?

Sorry for the tardy response!

I believe that you can pretty much get rid of the lot in one go. You would have to have a lot of Botox at once which would give you a very frozen look for a while. If you have a lower dose each time then you look more natural but it takes longer for the lines to disappear.

Post injection I have teeny bruises that are easy to cover with make up. It takes 3/4 days for the Botox to take effect.

Botox makes the single biggest difference to the way I look.

You'll definitely notice a difference after your first appointment but frown lines improve over time.

I find this especially with marionette lines - I have quite a grumpy mouth when relaxed and the Botox makes it more neutral which over time alleviates the lines

Yes I have it for forehead lines. Mine are very deep and I only started with botox in my mid 40's. Do not try to do it all at once - get a little done and after 2 weeks they will top it up if you feel there is no difference. However, do not be tempted to get too much. You will need to redo it every 5-7 months depending on you. I go to a very expensive dr but I believe that bad botox is worse than no botox. DO not under any circumstances go to a beautician - only go to a Dr. I have seen a woman face destroyed for months with bad stuff.

Also, only use botox, don't use fillers as they make your forehead look awful.

Hope this helps. I love the result, I look better but not so different that anyone notices except to say that I look great!
