Is navy on for a funeral?

I have a funeral and realised I don't have any solely black clothes, but I have a navy dress. Would that be ok?
I do have black trousers but not a black top, or even any dark colours really.

Definitely ok. I usually wear navy to a funeral. A lot of men wear navy suits too.

Absolutely fine. It’s becoming increasingly common to be asked not to wear black and I certainly don’t think it’s expected anymore.

yes totally fine. Even at traditional funerals of the elderly people wear navy, not just at the modern 'no black' ones

Navy or dark purple are traditional instead of black. People aren't as rigid these days anyway, and they wear their normal coats of many colours in winter.

All black is no longer expected at most funerals. Smartish clothes in restrained colours usually fit the bill perfectly.

definitely agree that even for the more traditional funerals smart and sober has replaced all black as the dress code.

It's fine, I wore a navy dress to MILs funeral and my own Mums funeral was on a blisteringly hot day, I wore a grey and white strappy top dress. Lots of people asked before Mums funeral about dress code, we just told everyone that being comfortable was more important, she would have hated the thought of everyone being swathed in black on such a hot day.

Black trousers with a plain top in white or blue or whatever would be equally fine.
