Want to stop using disposable razors!

I want to stop buying disposable razors immediately as they’re a terrible waste of plastic and money.

I already wax my legs, and have done since I was about 16 so only get about 3 hairs on each leg!

But my underarms can generate quite the 5 o’clock shadow...

Should I buy a reusable safety razor? An electric one? Or use another method?

I love my safety razor. I got masses of blades off eBay for about £5 that will last me and DH to the end of time. My razor was a colourful one from Edwin Jagger. No more plastic wasted, except for the tiny box for the blades every once in a blue moon.

Is a safety razor a pain in the arse though? To use and to change the blades? Am I being a bit thick?

I buy those wax strips that you peel apart for my underarms. A pack lasts ages and I just do it once a week, takes 2 minutes and never buy razors

Safety razors are easy to use- some come with a twisty action to put the new blade in and some are screwy I think.

Some of the plastic free shops have videos to help (try the kind store I think the lady there did a video)

Put the old blades in an old tin until they are full and then give them to someone at the tip who can get rid of them safely (apparently, I only watched the video, haven’t actually got one yet!)

Get a decent men's Razor, Gillet are good. 'Women's razors are less effective and more expensive.

Changing the heads is ridiculously easy with all reusable razors I've ever used.

www.ffs.co.uk/

I use this with refills on a monthly subscription.

I also get the FFS subscription

The safety razor is much easier to use than I expected and really not that much different - you just hold it at a different angle, really. Blade changes are easy with mine - screw off the top, change over, screw back on. I did it today in about 15 seconds including a quick clean of the parts. And the blades last longer.
