Anyone tried Olpalex?

The top layer of my hair is frizzy and dry with straightening/drying etc. Only wash and dry my hair once a week so can't do much from that side but wondered if anyone had tried olpalex and if it worked?

Yes. I have olsplex 3. I’m really puzzled. Sometimes it leaves my hair really swoosht, sometimes it doesn’t.

Firsttimeuser12 · 07/04/2019 18:40

Oh I'm unsure what to do but my care needs some TLC

Yes I used to have it every time at the hairdresser but really don't feel it made any difference.

Longlostperson · 07/04/2019 19:22

Yeah. It’s shit.

SinglePringle · 07/04/2019 19:24

Yup. I really like it. I have my very dark brown hair highlighted every 12 weeks and my roots done monthly. They mix Olaplex into my colour and I use the Stage 3 at home weekly. My hair should resemble straw yet it does not...

I had it done at the salon for the first time at the suggestion of my hair dresser. Not sure you'd need it, you might find deep conditioning masks do the trick.
I needed it as very damaged hair from colouring and bleaching - think top layer of hair all broken off around the ears - kind of bad.
It's supposed to build the hair's integrity back from the inside. Whether it's effective or not, I don't yet know. I was told it last 6-7 wks.

FreeButtonBee · 07/04/2019 19:32

I find it’s helpful. I can’t use much conditioner on my hair as it’s a greasy mess but olaplex 3 once a fortnight or so really helps keep my ends in good shape. Also good for taking on hols when you’re in the pool or sea a lot.

Bodicea · 07/04/2019 21:04

Singlepringle just out of interest what do you get done to your roots monthly? You mean like a t-section?

SinglePringle · 07/04/2019 22:44

No, I have balayage on my mid lengths and end and have my roots darker. They get done monthly (to hide the grey).

Firsttimeuser12 · 07/04/2019 23:16

Yes it's the top later of my hair snapped half way up so I was thinking olpalex 3 to use at home to strengthen. Assume it's snapped with bleaching and heat. Thanks for all your replies

Yes, in salon with a colour treatment. Has made a definite difference to the condition of my hair.

MoonStarsSun · 08/04/2019 11:43

You need to stop colouring, if your hair is breaking off. Sad but true.

Try this. It's honestly amazing

I find it works better if you have the salon one done and then top it up with the No 3 at home.

I swear by Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. Makes your hair glossy, shiny and thicker. Makes a huge amount of difference and I use it once a week. I'm growing my grey out and it's made my hair supersoft and manageable.

Firsttimeuser12 also, try eBay for decants of olaplex, you need the full kit to really repair hair no1 and no2 especially as a stand alone treatment. No1 is usually added to bleach/colour to protect the hair, but you can mix no1 with water let it sit, then add no2.
