Obviously hairdressers tell you they must be avoided and you must spend £££ at salon .

Are any box dyes good for covering grey in medium brown hair?

I used Nice and Easy in Medium Brown for years and it was fine.

However if you search Mumsnet for 'Majirel' there are lots of threads about using Loreal Majirel, which is a make that they use in salons but you can get it online in places like Sally's. You buy the peroxide separately (you can get a big bottle quite cheap) and follow the instructions for mixing ratios. It can be a bit complicated with base shades and tones, but at the same time this means you shouldnt get those reddy tones that you sometimes get with box dyes. It also works out quite economical too.

I've been using Nice and Easy for years, light medium brown covers all the grey,
Really couldn't justify paying £80 -£100 in a salon,
