Excuse the unflattering photo, im rubbish at selfies. I hate the way I look, people often think I'm 16 and I hate it, I'm fed up of being spoken down to and not taken seriously. What can I do to make myself look more my age? I'm 27. Will try and add another pic but it will only attach one atm.

This is possibly a little dated now but your post reminded me of it straight away

Her blog is still going and she wears lovely clothes, so if you are interested in looking older, I'd definitely recommend her

  • I think your brows are contributing to your young look too. They look light, which gives the impression of them looking sparser than they actually might be. You could try filing them in with makeup or getting them tinted for some definition. I think it might look nice if you filled them in more from the front. Perhaps you could experiment with the shape using makeup? Personally my brows look much more flattering with an arch.
  • your makeup is similar to how a teen might do it. What you could instead try is a brown eyeshadow in your crease with a nude shade on your lids, with mascara. Looks appropriate for everyday, job interviews etc but more polished. Ditch the liner and lower lash mascara. Blush/bronzer and contouring may help to define your face more to hide the baby face?
  • has you hair been coloured? I would recommend having a defined centre part (yours is slightly off to the side) and either straighten it or define the waves more as it looks a bit un-styled for an interview. I think your hair would look nice being darker or more ash in tone.

Obviously you don’t have to change anything if you don’t want to though!

What makes you look young is your eyes...they look very child-like, like you're just seeing the world for the first time! I would enjoy it while you can. Just perhaps lessen the mascara etc as you don't need it.
