Which teeth whitening kit actually works?!

Getting married soon and I want to brighten up my teeth with a home kit, I can't afford an expensive dentist but all the amazon reviews I look at are average or say the product is useless and the people saying it's good are bring given free products!
I've tried the stick on strips and didn't like them, I'm thinking trays with gel?

I've got out of my flu-ridden death bed to trade this photo... no idea why, but anyway, shunning white glo is available in UK, this actually mac a difference to me, very quickly.

Im never going to have arctic white teeth, but they looked so much better even after a couple of sessions.

You fill the silicon squishy mould with gel, after attaching it to the white "compact", then press the button for uv light once you've got the mould in your mouth. It automatically stops after a minute.

Apols for any typos...

Don't know why shunning? Blush

Crest Whitestrips. I got mine from US amazon and they are really, really good. I got the professional effects ones and can see a difference 3 days in. There is a weeks worth of treatments and may not have to do them all lest I start blinding people with my Ross-esque pearly whites!

Yes Crest strips are excellent

Spaceunicorn6789 · 03/04/2019 18:39

Do the crest strips not cause pain and sensitivity? I've got some that my American friend picked up for me when she went home for Christmas but I've been too scared to try them.

stayathomer · 03/04/2019 18:42

The new Colgate in the red box!!! The one Holly advertises!

TeddyIsaHe · 03/04/2019 18:54

@Spaceunicorn6789 I’ve never had any problems, and I have sensitive teeth. If they do cause pain you can space them out more, so strips every 2/3 days instead. Make sure to not get them on your gums as that is bloody sore!

Babyfoal · 03/04/2019 19:47

Crest strips don't cause me any sensitivity. I only use them for half an hour.

beaveringaways · 03/04/2019 20:07

@lborgia your efforts are much appreciated I hope you're feeling better!
I think the consensus seems to be crest strips so might have to give the strips another go!

Yes the crest strips (the ones your wear for an hour)and also a toothpaste like Colgate optic white or Rembrandt. Last time I was in the UK though I noticed that the same Colgate one didn't have hydrogen peroxide as an ingredient like it does in the US so it may not work as well. I also use crest 3d white mouthwash and that helps to keep my teeth white so that I only need to use the strips once or twice a year.

Or you could get it done professionally at the dentist, that does hurt though!

beaveringaways · 04/04/2019 11:14

Can you buy the crest ones in the UK? Amazon seems to only have them in $ and expensive shipping to the UK

TeddyIsaHe · 04/04/2019 11:24

No only from the US as the UK doesn’t allow that strength whitening product to be sold.

These are the ones I got. Came to just over £40 with the shipping.

redwoodmazza · 04/04/2019 11:31

What about if you have crowns?
Does it bleach those as well as ordinary teeth?

lborgia · 04/04/2019 12:51

I did try the strips, but just found them really unpleasant, slimy, an hour of not really being able to concentrate on anything else...I’m probably too impatient!

Hope it goes well, and you feel nice and confident for your wedding!

SuburbanCrofter · 04/04/2019 18:53

Redwood my dentist says no, it won't bleach crowns Sad
