Hair colour advice needed please!

I recently got my hair highlighted and it really didn't turn out how I wanted or asked. The bits at the front are really blonde and the rest is quite gingery! I really can't afford to get it done again so I was wondering about using a brown henna to just regain some healthiness and make it a nicer colour all over.

Does anyone know if this would this work?!

Don’t do it! Henna will make it all go gingery on top of highlights. If you’re not happy first port of call is going back to the hairdresser to ask them to sort it out.

I wouldn't. Not brown henna. It will probably go more orange.
I'd go back to the hairdresser. If I really couldn't face it I'd go and ask at the local hair/beauty college if they could help you.

Ah ok this did cross my mind, thank you for the warning!

I did contact her and she said she would re-do it but we couldn't find a time to fit it in and I didn't want to push it.
It was a couple of weeks ago now so not sure if too much time has passed! Maybe I should try again.

Why is going to the hairdressers so stressful?!

Do you mean gingery like brassy blondy/orangy/ginger or kind of browny-auburn ginger?

If its the former purple shampoo used as a hair mask may help, the Provoke Touch of Silver Treatment is brilliant and cheap.

If its the latter, mine has sometimes some out that way too, I do my own hair colour and sometimes don't pay enough attention. I use shop bought box blonde dye in a pale golden blonde (like the Clairol Summer Blonde ones) and it knocks out the ginger without paling down the pale bits too much.

I'm not a professional but years of getting distracted and being too gung-ho when doing my own hair have taught me quite a few solutions!

I ring back hairdresser today. They are probably trying to put you off but if you ring back and are firm and explain it's been two weeks since you had it done and that you'll have to ask further about what to do in this situation then they may fit you in as they won't want their reputation tarnished. Good luck.

Yes, ring the hairdressers back. They may have been so busy they forgot.
