Formal interview outfit help

Hi all, I have an interview on friday for a teaching placement at a catholic school and the dress code is formal. I have no idea what to wear though! I've never had a formal interview before and unsure what to wear. I bought a black dress but think it might be too thin and I don't feel comfortable in a blazer.

Can you wear a plain black cardigan with a tailored black dress for a formal interview? Any other suggestions please? Thank you

I think if it’s a formal dress code it would have to be a jacket. Doesn’t have to be a blazer though

What sort of jacket and what colour with a black dress? Thanks

Any jacket over a black dress. Make it suit your personality...what about adding some colour? Plum, dark red, navy, green? What type of dress is it?

It's a black bodycon dress... Would this be considered too fitted/tight and unprofessional? I've found a jacket/blazor I like and was thinking of wearing it with tights and small heels
