I'm in need of some new ones, ideally would buy GHD or something similar but am on a budget at the moment. Any recommendations would be appreciated

Remington straighteners are supposed to be great and are lots cheaper than GHDs. I have cloud nines and they are really good but quite expensive.

Thank you Yayswimming

I’d agree re Remington- I bought their black pearl ones a few years ago when my ghds gave up and i couldn’t afford to replace them at the moment. And they are great - have been more than satisfied with them.

Thanks Honeywort, I'll look for those

Coriolis are amazing, so much better than GHDs which I find always end up feeling gritty (ie pulling your hair) and not closing properly

Mine are Remington and they are great but then I really don't understand the point of ghds. Most normal straightners would do for my hair and it's thick and curly so I'm never sure why people buy the really expensive ones.

I had some GHD's 10 or more years ago and they packed in after about 6 months, was so annoyed as I'd paid so much for them, yet every stylist I've spoken to always say GHD are the best. I'll look at the Remington's and the Coriolis, looked at Cloud Nines but they're quite expensive for what I can justify spending at the moment. Thanks everyone
