Comfy flip flops / sandals for walking miles in

deadsexy · 02/04/2019 07:39

Just prepping for our first family holiday to Florida. I know I need to be prepared to walk for miles and miles each day and weather currently in the 30s.

Currently wear havianas which are fine but thinking I may need more cushioning.

Fit flop / sketchers???

Thanks

I have FitFlops, Birkenstocks and Skechers... They're all great. My first choice is FitFlops- always comfortable from first wear, for whole days at a time. I dislike most of their styles though so I choose carefully....

Sketchers - but buy them over there in a discount outlet mall
Fitflops could be a disaster if you’ve not worn them before - they can cause problems and discomfort to knees and hips so not worth risking that

Turfaccountant · 02/04/2019 08:05

I'd say fit flops everytime. Get them a couple of weeks before to get used to them. You'll never look back

I own these in seven different colour combinations (over three summers so far). They have taken me miles (Disney, Lego land, Harry Potter world and many major cities).
I find ideal with shorts and can be dressed up for tired feet going out for dinner too.

Havianas will be great for the horizontal rain.

If you want more of a walking sandal I had these from sports direct last year and they were excellent.

Can confirm that the Sports Direct ones above are excellent. Cheap too.

Sunonthepatio · 02/04/2019 09:47

Thank you! I just bought those too.

My fit flops were a lifesaver while walking around Orlando theme parks (miles & miles each day) & hikes in the Everglades. I got the ones with the leather soles and they were very comfortable. I took trainers too but didn't end up wearing them.

Pinkruler · 02/04/2019 10:09

Skechers are good. Buy before you go unless you really like getting to a place and having to go shopping before hitting the parks.
Also buy enough suncream before you go. It is $$$

MumUnderTheMoon · 02/04/2019 10:11

I wear dm sandals they are so comfortable I've ordered a pair for dd this year.

0ccamsRazor · 02/04/2019 10:12

Teva mush are amazingly comfy,
Teva tirra walking sandals for something more robust.

Birkies are super comfy once they are warn in and saltwater sandals are my to go summer wear. However not everyone finds the thin un-cushioned soles easy to wear, but i prefer them as it is like walking bare foot.

anonymousbird · 02/04/2019 10:17

I can walk miles in my Birkenstocks. Believe Fit Flops are similar.

deadsexy · 02/04/2019 15:13

Bought 2 spares of fitflops from their outlet store online about £33 each which doesn't seem bad. Sports direct looks good for might have a look at them too

Crocs fit flops can be fab

DavenotChas · 02/04/2019 18:42

SimplyPut those sandals are just what I'm after. What are they called? TIA

minipie · 02/04/2019 22:38

Reef flip flops. They do a huge range of styles, some more cushioned than others, the cushioned ones are so comfy.

I also have two pairs of Joules flipadrilles - comfier than slippers!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 02/04/2019 22:40

I wear my Saltwaters, they don't need wearing in and I can walk miles in them.

TapasForTwo · 02/04/2019 22:42

Some rides require shoes that will stay on your feet, so I would recommend sandals or Sketchers Go Walk, and not flip flops. I took both, and alternated them. They were perfect.
