Botox - how long does it really take to work?

Hi all, I’ve been looking at the threads about this and can’t find a clear answer. I am day 5 following having Botox for the first time. I had my forehead and 11s done. I can see a little difference and it has definitely been tricky to frown from day 3, but I still feel (and look) quite lined across my forehead. I can still raise my eyebrows and ‘line’ my forehead, I asked for it to be light and am going back for a check up/top up on day 14 but wondered if I should be seeing a bit more by now or us this normal?

Takes 2 weeks for the full effect. At your 2 week check they should top you up. Mine do.

Where did you have your injections? (whereabouts on forehead, not salon!). You should be able to notice a significant difference by day 5 but if you've had baby Botox, you'll still be able to move your forehead.

All over forehead I think, well I had 8 injections in the forehead, and then several more in my 11’s. She didn’t say baby Botox but as it was my first time I asked her to go gently but I’m a little concerned she’s gone too gently. It’s a bit odd as I thought I looked much improved on Friday 48 hours afterwards, and yet now it doesn’t look much different. It’s difficult as I’ve spent so much time scrutinising my face I’m not sure I’m looking at it objectively but there’s definitely not a significant difference to my forehead.

Definitely 2 weeks .
You'll notice almost nothing on day 5
. Don't expect miricles though either .
I just notice then when I'm exhausted ( most of the time single parent and demanding career ) I can wing it and still look like I've had a reasonable nights sleep . Also my eye make up goes on better . I certainly don't look on the mirror and think wow .
Give it time and enjoy.

Hi, don't worry the first time I had it done it took at least 7 days to start having a noticable effect. By the second week there was hardly any movement at all and my lines had disappeared. You will probably have a follow up session booked around 3-4 weeks after treatment so you can always have a top up if you're not completely happy with the results. The next time you have it done it takes effect quicker than the first time.

Not true for everyone that you don't notice anything by day 5. I most certainly do, if not sooner. Baby Botox is just a lighter touch, that's all and prevents the frozen, cement forehead look. Strange though how yours seemed to initially take effect and then not so much. Don't know why that should be. Dont fret though - you can have a 'top up' if need be at your follow up appointment.

On day 14 for me, nothing. On day 14 following top up appointment, still nothing. Have an appointment again on Friday, hoping something can be done. I’ve had 11 lines done but it so far has been a huge waste of money and time. Wrinkles were extremely feint so was hoping for better results to be honest...

I think everyone reacts differently. I felt I could see an improvement in a couple of days. I think I’m super sensitive to it. I felt mine was overdone last time with only half the usual dose.

If after 2 loads you are still seeing no improvement you may be better off with a filler in that area.

I’m feeling a bit more reassured reading these answers, it sounds like I may be expecting a bit much too quickly. It definitely feels a little tight today, and I have got less movement, more so on the sides above my eyes and less centrally. The problem is I’m scrutinising it so much I’m not really sure what I can see!!

I've had it 4/5 times, with varying levels of success

2/3 of the effect usually for me within the first 3-4 days. But the most recent one did take a full 2 weeks for it to settle properly. I think everyone reacts a bit differently so don't worry yet. Just get more at top up

I've noticed a difference in strength from the 'freshness'/newness of the product though, and not everyone uses the same quality of stuff
