Skirts and trainers on the over 40s

Can this be done in a way that doesn’t make me look.... odd? I’m 45, size 10 having lost 4 stone in the last year and have rediscovered my love of clothes. When I’m not at work I tend to wear jeans and trainers all the time but want to wear something a bit different on my days off during the summer.

Will this trend look ridiculous on me??

WTAF does age have to do with anything?

I'm sick of the casual ageism on MN but on this board in particular.

If you like the look, can afford the skirt/trainers, they fit you - then fill your boots and wear them!

I wear trainers with plain, straight maxis. The sillouette resembles trousers, so I think that's fine. I'm 54.

Anodyne and cheap.

Go for it. Summer freedom, comfort and style. It’s not an age thing. And had you asked about a micro skirt, I would have responded very differently.

Do it and enjoy it 😊
