How do I have high maintenance hair?!

I had a shit breakup and cut all my hair off. It’s growing back but it’s still just shoulder length.

I’ve always been rubbish at hair, but I’m watching the selling sunset and kardashians and I feel like I need to up my game as I feel crap!

I have a babyliss big hair which I love, but still just makes me passable. Are their any go-to styles which scream day to day glamour? How do I do them?!!

I found short hair to be the hardest to maintain.

Do you like to wear your hair up?

Theninjawhinger · 31/03/2019 18:21

I am contemplating extensions it’s that bad! I have had them before though and it’s so hard to maintain.

I have a massive forehead so try not to wear my hair up. I literally turn it upside down and blow dry it usually - big hair when I have a special occasion.

I am just bored by it! I need inspiration but I don’t know what to search for?!

I had mine taken out after two weeks, I didn't like them.

Do you suit a side fringe?

I would only have extensions again if I could afford £30 a week for a blow dry otherwise I found them a bloody disaster

Theninjawhinger · 31/03/2019 19:07

See this is what worries me - I lasted 8 weeks with my first lot, 10 days worh my second and was desperate to have them removed. I just feel SO dowdy and unglamorous.

My ex has a new girlfriend who is stunning (with long extensions!) which doesn’t help!

How about some colour?

Littlechocola · 31/03/2019 19:09

Ignore ex and his new partner. Don’t look backwards.

I have no idea, but I have the same hair as you!

I used to have long hair, which got in terrible condition from dyeing and straightening. I started the Curly Girl Method to improve condition and asked hairdresser to cut it to longish shoulder length to get rid of most of the damaged stuff. She cut it in a graduated bob that was up off my neck at the back and just off my shoulders at the front Angry

I'm not growing it back. I have random dodgy layers and funny lengths. It's mostly just about shoulder length now.

I am going to a (different!) hairdresser tomorrow to throw myself on their mercy. I am going for ideas and advice rather than a cut, and won't have it cut if I am not 100% sure of the idea! I am hoping for a low-maintenance style that I can just blowdry to keep my wavy thick hair under control. Fingers crossed!

I bet her extensions look like a rats tail

AdultHuman · 31/03/2019 20:23

I doubt your ex enjoys running his fingers through her hair.
