What to wear to a wedding?

I am going to my friend's wedding in a few weeks. Looking for a non-wedding-ish outfit.

It's casual, but in a church. Daytime only - it will be done by 5pm.

I want to wear my silver brogues

Any suggestions?

I am in the same boat. Sadly mine is also an Italian wedding which is where everything anyone ever said about style and Italians goes out of the window as weddings= bling and more bling. I can never compete (nor would I want to!)
Am looking at Boden Clarissa jumpsuit in navy.

My wedding rule of thumb is 'me but a bit dressed up'. This means I can wear anything I want in any colour. I would obviously never wear a white frilly dress mind you. Silver brogues sound just the thing.
