Which of these 2 jackets go best?

I bought this jumpsuit to wear to an upcoming event. Part of it takes place in a church (it's not a wedding) sonid like a jacket to cover up a bit and also not certain the weather will behave. I don't want to spend a lot on the jacket. Please tell me which of these two would work best. I like them both but can't get near a shop to try on so was hoping to just buy one online and be done with it!

Second one

Second one

MoltonSilver · 29/03/2019 14:43

I much prefer the first one.

cocoloc · 29/03/2019 14:45

The first one as the second is quite boxy and you would lose your waist

keenwasalad · 29/03/2019 14:49

Second

Nowordsleft · 29/03/2019 14:51

First one

macnab · 29/03/2019 14:52

oh no I was hoping for a bigger majority! shades of brexit
I think I'll give it a bit longer to see if any more 'votes' come in Grin

Defo the first, second will make your outfit more casual than what it is.

mynameiscalypso · 29/03/2019 14:54

Hmm, it's tough without seeing it as an outfit but my preference is 1 I think. The alternative is to go for a more oversized blazer type thing?

TickTockBaby · 29/03/2019 14:54

Second one.
First one looks a bit dated. Beautiful play suit!

Lew1993 · 29/03/2019 14:55

First one

Doje · 29/03/2019 14:57

I think the second one. The first one feels a bit too 'sharp' for the jumpsuit. I think the feel of the outfit is softer, as is the second jacket.

bossyboo · 29/03/2019 15:10

First one definitely Smile

girlinawhirl · 29/03/2019 15:17

Definitely second, the first is very dated.

desperatehousewife2 · 29/03/2019 15:23

Definitely first one. As a pp said the second one is more boxy, you need the nipped in waist of the first one

ketchupormayo · 29/03/2019 15:28

I prefer the first one but I think the second one might go better. Can you buy both and return one?

Expressedways · 29/03/2019 15:32

Neither?! The second one runs the risk of making you look really boxy, the first one I like the shape of the body but not the sleeves. I agree a white jacket is the way to go over what is a stunning jumpsuit but I don’t think either of those are quite right (sorry). But maybe they’ll be better in person? But both and try them on?

OutComeTheWolves · 29/03/2019 15:35

Second. The first reminds me of something a circus ringmaster would wear.

whitehalleve · 29/03/2019 15:39

The first one looks so old fashioned. Definitely the second one. Smile

macnab · 29/03/2019 15:44

Ok I've gone with the second one, only because when I looked at similar jumpsuits on the PhaseEight website they were styled with that sort of jacket. May last year was incredibly warm so maybe it will be the same this year and I'll literally only have it on for an hour so it won't really matter!

First one

WoahThereMama · 29/03/2019 21:05

I think the first is very dated. The jumpsuit gives the effect of high waist trousers therefore I think a cropped jacket might finish at the wrong point to be flattering - you don’t want the bottom of the blazer to finish parallel with the high waistline. Hard to say without seeing them on. Failing that, a longline white blazer would also look nice imo.

Ellapaella · 29/03/2019 21:06

First one

macnab · 29/03/2019 22:11

Right so, I'll wait for the second one to arrive and try it on (might post a pic here if I'm brave enough!) and if it's not right I'll return and order the first one! God I really wish I had my own personal stylist I find this sort of thing so hard Blush

While I'm at it, would anyone care to suggest accessories for this outfit?! I have nude patent high heels, gold leather wedges or silvery-sparkly peep toe high heel (small platform sole) shoes. Would any of those work? please say yes so I don't have to do more shopping What type of jewelry? Just earrings? Big/dangly ones??
