Bacne - hormone related 😞

The fertility treatment I was on last year started giving me bacne, something I’ve been lucky enough not to experience previously. Since getting pregnant it is even worse. I’m aware of summer approaching and don’t see how I could wear anything that exposes any of my back because it’s in such a bad state.
Any suggestions of what may help? I bought a long handled body brush and have been scrubbing gently but it’s not helped. I’m fed up!

Cidal antibacterial bars of soap and deep action spot clearing body spritz from superdrug cleared up the quite persistent acne my son had on his back.

I do have to hold my breath when spraying the stuff though, otherwise I end up having a coughing fit.

I had this my doctor prescribed RetinA it works really well.

Another vote for the superdrug back spray. My local one never has it but I order it in. I also use the superdrug deep cleansing pads and scrub as much of my neck and back as possible, they come away grey which is grossly satisfying. Definitely keep at it with the brush in the shower, maybe use soap instead of shower gel and try and air your back off between clothes changes, if you see what I mean.

The boots back spray is good too, same ingredient as the Superdrug one. I prefer the smell.

Boots back spray! I swear by it. I use once in the morning before I get dressed and after a shower. I use the scrub one day a week.

Thanks all! Have just ordered the boots back spray and found a soap that’s recommended too. Hope it works!

I wouldn’t scrub acne. Have you seen the gp?

OverwateredCheeseplant · 30/03/2019 17:27

Can these back sprays be used on the chest as well?

Ofthread · 30/03/2019 17:39

Yes

It's a body scrub, specifically for acne. It's tea tree and witch hazel. I use my hands, not a exfoliating glove or anything.

Paula's Choice Exfoliating body spray, it has:

2% salicylic acid - exfoliates without irrration, 2% is also the level that is effective but not harsh
Panthenol and glycerin - moisturise and repair
Licorice root and allantonin - anti irritants and soothing

Since I started this thread I bought the boots tea tree & back spray, and also the mario badescu AHA botanical body soap. My skin has cleared up dramatically! It’s not completely gone but significantly better, and I’ve only been using the spray 10 days and the soap for a week. Would highly recommend to anyone else with this problem!

It’s great isn’t it!
