Just that really. I have always felt that I don’t look as nice as I could look, if only I made a bit more effort. I just don’t know where to start. Any tips?

If I’m seeing people I put make up on
Nice perfume
Try and match clothes.
I stay in fashion to a point. Not top shop fashion but nice shoes Trends in patterns etc.

Decent haircut. Shaped eye Brows Fake tan in summer

Gym and swim

Other than that I don’t do a lot

Certainly not in a salon every week.

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 28/03/2019 15:58

I do very little but I like doing my nails. Every Sunday evening I sit down in the kitchen with my array of nail varnish. When I see my nails at work it makes me smile.

Tighnabruaich · 28/03/2019 15:59

Starting at the top and working down.
I make sure my hair is clean, and well cut. Or if I've let it grow, keep it in good shape.
I have quite a thorough cleansing routine morning and night.
I keep my eyebrows nicely shaped.
Manicured hands, or just clean and trimmed nails.
Clothes clean and pressed.
Legs waxed/shaved.
Pedicure, make sure feet soft with neat nails
It doesn't matter what your own personal style is, or how much make-up you wear, I think the above are the basics.

Taking notes. Feeling a scruff!

Inliverpool1 · 28/03/2019 16:01

Keep your weight steady then you can buy beautiful clothes

driftingcloud · 28/03/2019 16:02

Defuzzing my peach fluff from my face!

Proudirishnotpaddy · 28/03/2019 16:02

I keep,y hair cut and coloured.

Get my nails done every2 weeks.

Eyebrows the same - and lip and chin and face everyither time.

Paint toenails in the summer.

Do-ordinate outfits.

Fake tan in the summer - I usually get a spray tan if I’m going out.

I think the little things help. I'm very low maintenance unless I'm trying to impress someone special or going on a job interview or something. But if I'm feeling a little blue I find some bright nail varnish, some perfume and trying to eat more healthy, makes me feel better about myself. So I think those are the basics to start with.

Proudirishnotpaddy · 28/03/2019 16:03

Iron clothes if they’re nothojsework clothes.

And always a full face of make up unless I’m ill.

Cleanse time and moisturise every morning and evening.

EdWinchester · 28/03/2019 16:07

Keep slim.

Wear nice clothes - spend a bit more as it's worth it.

Wear makeup.

Have teeth professionally whitened!

birdflyinghigh · 28/03/2019 16:11

I run with weights just about every day for 45 minutes. I limit what I eat to make sure I have a calorie deficit. I aim for a deficit of at least 1000 calls and nearly always achieve this. I don't usually drink very much. About 3 glasses of wine per week. I wear make up every day. I moisturise my face and neck twice a day. I put hand cream on every day. Keep my nails trimmed. I colour my hair naturally each wash with a rinse I make up of different teas, turmeric and coffee. I get my hair trimmed quite regularly, when I think it looks scruffy. I try to keep fairly fashionable and wear clothes I think suit me.

Cocopops2010 · 28/03/2019 22:10

Thanks for all the tips! I have a small baby which is making things harder in terms of time but I have always struggled to prioritise making an effort. Am currently having a bath and have shaved legs for first time in ages feel a bit better already!

I get my face threaded, wash and style my hair with a Babyliss Big Hair, and wear make up. Those make me feel great!

Inliverpool1 · 29/03/2019 06:17

Cocopops2010 - this time will pass like lightening enjoy your baby

Sodamncaughtinthemiddle · 29/03/2019 06:23

Hair styled every day
Make up
Eyebrows dyed and threaded
Fake tan
Stay slim
Nice dresses
Legs shaved
Nails hands and feet done

puppymouse · 29/03/2019 06:38

I had Invisalign on my teeth a few years ago. That improved things a lot. I also get my nails done every three weeks.

I recently had my eyebrows microbladed and eyeliner semi perm tattoo as I'm getting lazier about makeup some days but I really look terrible without it!

My hair is always up. But I wash the front of it every morning.

Lumene · 29/03/2019 08:10

Cocopops gel nails would last a decent amount of time and should survive early baby life

myname666 · 29/03/2019 10:07

Like inliverpoil said this time will fly by.
Embrace hairy legs, heck even occasionally armpits, scruffy hair and baggy clothes. You are probably glowing more than you think you are. Just enjoy your little one. Plenty of time for preening when they start school.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 29/03/2019 13:34

Bird a 1000 cal deficit every day is dangerous, not healthy or something to aspire to, unless you ar 40+ stone.

Inliverpool1 · 29/03/2019 16:19

I’d eat my hat if anyone is managing a 1000 per day deficit- what a load of shite. Anorexia aside you’d be chewing your arm off by the end of the week

myname666 · 29/03/2019 18:17

I spotted that and presumed it was a typo for 100 calories deficit which would be doable for someone with self control. Not me! Besides who calorie counts that accurately anyway. Confused

Lisette1940 · 29/03/2019 18:38

If you want to lose 2lbs per week you need to create a calorie deficit of 1000 Cals per day - but that can mean eating 500 Cals less and burning 500 off.

I'm only comfortable losing 1lb per week.

Inliverpool1 · 29/03/2019 20:53

Lisette1940 - loosing 2lb per week you’d have to be obess .... I know most of us would have a good layer or two to lose before the body started burning muscle but it would happen and the heart is a muscle.

Hiddenaspie1973 · 29/03/2019 21:01

I cycle regularly. But need to strengthen and tone my arms and stomach.

I'm wearing a new dress from wallis tomorrow. Only £15 in the sale.

I wear nice perfume.

I've started wearing foundation to stop my my brown blotches showing up. I use brow gel mascara as my once beautiful brows are fading and thinning.

SheSaidNoFuckThat · 29/03/2019 21:02

If you're active 1000 calorie deficit is actually really easy, I aim for 750 but regularly am closer to 1000 (done using Fitbit and mfp)
