Quite possibly. He's also written books about his ancestors (about the Battle of Blenheim IIRC) and featured as a talking head on various US TV shows about royals.

I suppose when you're personally responsible for the upkeep of a place like Althorp (it's not National Trust is it?) you need to be making a lot of money. And if people are offering you a wodge of cash to lend your name to some naff furniture line, you're going to bite their hand off.

Wonnacott35 · 03/04/2019 14:49

It was a very dramatic trailer for the programme. If you watch it DR Phil asks her why she will do things to please people to her own detriment? She says something like I don't know, my father in law says - why does someone so smart, do such stupid things. Dr Phil said she was a people pleaser.

I really couldn't help but like her and tbh the way Andrew and her seem to raise the girls is his only good feature.

Re Fergie being allowed to write her helicopter books: I think the RF used to be fairly relaxed about the minor royals undertaking commercial ventures (remember ‘It’s a Royal Knockout’?!). Then Edward broke the media ban on following William around St Andrew’s and then Sophie’s fake sheikh business, and they had to rethink the situation...

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 03/04/2019 16:09

Here’s some more pics of Rania in her pink and red outfit.
I like the colour blocking, but the whole effect comes across as cheap because the skirt is too thin and rumpled.

I much prefer her in this traditional outfit

Then we have (her former doppelgänger) Letizia knocking the spots off her (‘scuse the pun) in this fabulous blouse & pants combo

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 03/04/2019 16:17

I really like the reportage style of photos on the Sussex Royal Instagram.
It’s got Meghan all over it; to be fair, she’s had years of practice.

Very escapist viewing.

Charles has got quite a catalogue of books to his name, many in conjunction with other writers, but several of his own, especially "The Old Man of Lochnager" which was very popular. Profits to his charities.

The Budgie the Helicopter books were adapted to a stage play. We took DS1 to see it. (He's 26 now.) I can't remember exactly where. It was either Oldham Coloseum or Tameside Theatre. It was all very low budget with wobbly scenery and gaps in the proceedings while the cast members playing multiple characters changed costumes. However, DS1 who was probably about 3 loved it. 😊
One of my friends is going to the Dior exhibition with her daughter next week. If she sends me any photos I'll post them for us all to enjoy.

MotherofPearl · 03/04/2019 17:25

Thanks for those pictures of Rania and Leti Curly.

I totally agree about Rania's skirt, plus I dislike the very matchy-matchy shoes, bag and skirt. All looks a bit harsh and cheap as you say.

Leti looks great as usual. Love the spots, and the length and style of those trousers are perfect for spring.

beanaseireann · 03/04/2019 17:33

I'm not a fan of Fergie.
But I felt very sorry for her that she had to spend Christmas away from her girls.
It must have been Blush to have to face the stern in laws on the day of the toe sucking photographs being published.
Wasn't she staying in Balmoral at the time ?
Cringe!

frugalkitty · 03/04/2019 18:00

Leti looked absolutely fab in the polka dots today! I love that outfit and wish I had the figure to pull it off!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 03/04/2019 18:27

According to reports Diana did push Raine down the stairs though apparently it was an accident.

Here’s a headline about it

queenofarles · 03/04/2019 18:34

God! That’s all very dramatic. Diana never had a stable childhood and it had a negative impact on her throughout her life.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/04/2019 18:36

I remember Charles reading The Old Man of Lochnagar on Jackanory. He was wearing his kilt. Not a good look.

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/04/2019 20:39

Max has been out and about today. I like the pop of colour in her shoes and bag but other than that the outfit is nothing special. I quite like the green dress one of the other women is wearing though!

And CP Mary isn't giving up the pie crust collar without a fight!

OP posts:
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 03/04/2019 20:48

I like max’s Earrings.
The skirt is wierd. Beige at the back and grey in the front.... Confused

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 03/04/2019 20:51

CP Mary’s Valentino skirt is just gorgeous but that sweater is a drab as it was on the first outing.
I have no problem with the pie cripust collar but that skirt deserves a deeper colour top, like a cranberry or raspberry,

Daisypie · 03/04/2019 21:09

Love Mary's skirt. Top looks a bit old school.

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/04/2019 21:31

Prince Charles & sons are making an appearance at the Natural History Museum tomorrow for the premiere of David Attenborough's latest. I can't remember the last time they did an event together that was just the 3 of them.

No word on Kate's next appearance but it's school holidays, so she's probably at Anmer with the children for a few weeks.

OP posts:
itswinetime · 03/04/2019 21:38

The natural history museum will be interesting visit be hard to hide any cracks just the 3 of them.

I agree we won't see Kate for a while William is due to go to New Zealand soon isn't he? I'm guess it will be early April anyway so he is back in time for Louis birthday

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/04/2019 21:54

We must be due a new photo of the Pub Landlord Louis if he's nearly 1. I feel like we'd seen a lot more of George and Charlotte by the time they were his age but maybe I'm not remembering right.

OP posts:
BelfortGabbz · 03/04/2019 22:20

I think Louis shares his GF Michaels broad face. He looks very like him around the eyes and nose.

itswinetime · 03/04/2019 22:31

We see very little of any of the kids, birth? Christening and first birthday seems to be the standard and then if there is a family visit to another country maybe one or two appearances. But yes we should get a new photo soon and then maybe his first balcony for trooping of the colour?
