Best foundation for silky dewy skin?

First of all, I known the picture attached has been touched up wuth photoshop etc. but I know from TV and seeing people in real life that this skin look can be achieved. Does anyone recommend any products to help? I usually wear a Bare Minerals however that seems to look powdery on me these days and emphasise spots, it does look good in some photos but not always and I think IRL it's looking more powdery.

The best foundation for this effect that i remember looked lovely on was maybelline dream matte mousse however I like high end brands.

Got to add, I don't want the sweaty shine look or obvious high light.

Thanks in advance

Chanel. Anything Chanel

Hwory · 27/03/2019 19:59

I have dry skin and am always on the hunt for a non Matt foundation.

I recently switched from Nars Sheer Glow to No7’s new Hydroluminious foundation. It’s actually really nice and doesn’t leave that powdery dry look.

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra

boxlikeamarchhare · 27/03/2019 20:08

I bought the same foundation as Hwory this week and I really like it, a step up for me as I used to use No7 Stayperfect Superlight which was very very light coverage.

I have used all the £££££ brands over the years and really rate No7, cant tell the difference between that and one that costs multiples.

Op, i work in film/theatre, quite a few people i know (and i now use it myself) use this combination of product to achieve a lovely glowy dewy camera perfect look.
A pea size amount of

Mixed on finger tip with a pea size amount of
Dermacol film studio make up

In your choice of colour.

Use the primer sparingly and build up, apply highlighter or creme/stick blusher as required to cheeks/temple.

Dab small amounts of the dermacol on its own where extra cover is needed but a little goes a long way.
The primer makes the dewy glow.

Bodicea · 27/03/2019 20:37

Nars sheer glow is lovely and light and easy to get a colour match.
If I want to get extra dewy I mix it with a drop of my new beauty pie pro glow superstrobing drops. I have had multiple comments on my glow since I started doing that.

Charlotte Tilbury light wonder foundation and airbrush powder

asparalite · 27/03/2019 22:55

Guerlain L'Essential Natural Glow Foundation should give the kind of look you're looking for, their foundations are excellent.

IggyAce · 27/03/2019 23:01

My mua friend has lovely dewy skin when she uses Bobbi Browns intensive serum foundation.

Shipley · 27/03/2019 23:03

Thank you ladies, given that I don't know half of these products tells me it's next level stuff!

@bagpiss is the dermacol suitable for everyday wear?

GoFiguire · 27/03/2019 23:04

Pmk

Mixedbags · 27/03/2019 23:18

I would not recommend for everyday wear

Elllllle · 27/03/2019 23:52

Unless you start with good skin, I find it tricky to get the balance of good coverage and silky/dewy. I might try that primer though, thank you bagpiss

koality · 28/03/2019 07:16

Agree with no7 hydraluminous, very fresh. It cosmetics cc foundation also, although it's so dewy I need to use powder. I'm going to try the 'matte' one as it is still dewy apparently

bagpiss · 28/03/2019 07:41

Shipley, mixed with a little of the primer, it's much lighter than thick and is suitable for everyday wear. A little goes a long way and it doesn't need to slapped on thick.

AnxietycanFoff · 28/03/2019 09:35

I really liked YSL Youth Liberator, because it gave decent coverage, without looking cakey and did leave a slight sheen, dewiness to my skin. However, my skin's a bit dry recently, so it's it's looking a bit flat.

To save my spending £££ on another foundation, I just add a drop or two of High Beam, Benefit highlighter and that seems to bring my skin back to life and give me the glow.

As a pp has said, finding a foundation with decent coverage and a dewy finish is quite tricky, so I'm wondering if I've found the answer Grin

It Cosmetics CC cream or Chanel Vitalumiere are the best!

It cosmetics in this photo:

I bought no.7 hydralumiere today but it's not looking all that dewy on my forehead however I will add some of my nars highlighter into mix up if I don't see the effect I wanted in different lights. But have to say @instituute that looks absolutely gorgeous, is it sold in any stores or is there a way for colour matching to order online? X

Is that the illumination CC cream instituute?

instituute · 29/03/2019 06:08

Yes it's the illumination one in the pink tube. I guessed the colour and bought from cultbeauty.

Went for Medium

MadameDD · 29/03/2019 10:55

as IggyAce says Bobbi Brown serum is gorgeous - tried samples.

Chanel Vitalumiere (have tried both compact and liquid) for me are both dewy foundations - the liquid probably better.

High Beam or another liquid highlighter helps too.

As Elllle says good skin really helps - mine has not always been great in the past with spots etc but now they're out of the way I've found my skin is much better, got a compliment from the Bobbi Brown SA on my skin being very good but I suppose that's a cleanse, tone, moisturise and sun block for most of my life paying off plus no smoking etc!

Elllllle · 29/03/2019 11:22

On the back of this thread, U have a sample of nars primer (apparently similar but better than the cover fx) and smashbox studio skin hydrating foundation (I love this do far but have only tried once)

Elllllle · 29/03/2019 11:23

Sorry terrible typos! U = I; "do far" is obviously so far
