Red, bumpy, congested skin

I double cleanse and have done for years but still my chin is a bit dodgy and imo noticeably red, bumpy to touch. Any ideas of what it could be? Always slightly oily nose and chin, v dry/reactive (I have rosacea) elsewhere. I'm wondering if my overly nourishing skincare is maybe not right for my chin (!) Tho I don't really put much serum/oil there. I started a Ren AHA tonic last night and I notice today I've a few small whiteheads.. Any ideas or advice please?

How often are you changing your pillow case? I found my skin was worse if I didn't change it every 4 nights or so.

I also found that using Bravura products works wonders on my skin. No more oilyness, no more big cystic acne or spots.

The packaging is beautiful too. Just saying.

Hope it clears up soon OP

Lay off the double cleanse and chances are your rosacea will improve.

Also, unless you have really dry mature skin then "overly nourishing" skincare isn't really necessary.

As for the tonic surely it wouldn't work this fast?

Take a break and see if things improve.

The double cleanse is fantastic for my rosacea, the rest of my face is good. It's just the chin but I feel if congested it definitely needs good cleansing? I think this AHA is strong (acid) so yes it's likely the cause of the whiteheads today... Part of me wondering if that's what's needed to decongest?! Feel a bit unsure about it. My skin is very dehydrated so all the masks oils etc great for cheeks and forehead especially. Thanks for any tips.

Will try the regular pillow change!

Dd (teen though) has similar skin and it is noticeably better when she avoids sugar and dairy. She 13, so possibly different to you being an adult but if she is off both for even a week, the difference is huge, not that she can maintain it!

Well that would make a lot of sense....

I have this! It is so annoying. Mine clears up when I use a niacinamide serum. The Ordinary do one, but the texture is a bit off. Garden of Wisdom have a better formulation for not much more money.

I then use a high strength vitamin c serum (The Ordinary - it’s a bit beady so I use it at night) and touche eclat primer works miracles at smoothing it put enough for foundation to look excellent.

Glam Glow do a supermud clearing mask - it’s wildly expensive, but you only need a bit and it honestly clears my skin in one use. Absolutely no idea how it works, but it’s brilliant!

Ok yes I might need a different mask for my chin!! Ha! Thanks for all that. My chin has been like this since I was a teen so I probably have just accepted.. but when I am happy with the rest (bar the smile lines!), it's a shame.
