Coffee as a hair dye?

Baconislife · 26/03/2019 19:23

So I'm taking the plunge and have decided to stop colouring my hair.
Not looking forward to the skunk look but I can't stand another 10day root touch up.
So I'm looking to buy some headscarves and have also read that coffee grinds make a good temporary dye.
Has anyone done this???
Or am I just down an Internet hair dye hole ??

You can use coffee or strong tea to add a bit of brown to brown or reddish brown hair but it won't do anything for fair, grey, white or black shades.

Thought it was too good to be true 😀

The John Frieda brilliant brunette range is good. The conditioners deposit colour as do the Visibly Deeper Colour Deepening Treatment or Visibly Brighter treatment. Highly recommend.

@Thedarklady does it help hide grey??

I recommend Superdrug Colour Effects toner shampoo. It comes in a small bottle in three or four shades. I apply it to dry hair at the areas which are greying and leave it on for about 20 minutes before washing and conditioning. It lasts a couple of washes and blends the grey without masking it, plus it’s a no commitment solution.

Thanks @KateCantab will have a look at that
