Alternative to Kate Middleton's (wood handle) umbrellas?

They're by Briggs and over £300 each.
I've got a great automatic red travel one by Senz, just looking for a classic wood handle one in another colour.

So just a classic, non folding, wood-handled umbrella, then?

ColeHawlins · 26/03/2019 19:11

John Lewis always have them and a quick google brings up some bargain ones from Mountain Warehouse.

Sorry solid stick - one piece wooden handle and shaft. I've found Lockwood, London Undercover and Ince brands. The Ince was the cheapest at £175. Will get that unless there is another decent brand for a bit less.

Oh i see.

Are you in London or can you get there? There's a famous umbrella shop on New Oxford Street (James Smith's I think) where I got an umbrella like that for well under £100 a few years ago.

@HolidaysorBust I'll have a look the next time I'm in London

Try Fulton. They’re not one piece (the shaft and handle are glued together) but much cheaper.

PetuliaBlavatsky · 26/03/2019 20:58

This one is less than £20! www.brollied.com/falcone-men-s-automatic-windproof-walking-umbrella-grey.html

I was going to suggest Fulton too. I bought one a couple of months ago and I'm impressed with it.
