Did anyone see the one show last night,80 year old lady had a faclift and looks amazing, if anyone is considering tis the surgeon is in Harley street, it has given her a new lease of life, and i dont blame her
Looking old [even when you are] makes you feel old

I felt it was very sad
And I wonder what she looks like on a "normal" day with her own done hair and makeup. But each to their own, and they seemed like a lovely family.
Also I couldn't help but think her face doesn't match her neck

Personally i dont blame her,i am old, and know what a difference how you look makes as to how you feel,
We often feel different inside to how we look, and if it gives her a boost then good for her,i recently had cheek fillers,as i had lost fat from that area, although i didnt look anything like that lady did, [and younger] i have few wrinkles, and i dont regret it at all,it had made a big difference to how i look and feel, wouldnt go as far as a full facelift thoughIts a shame that people seem to thnk because we are old,we have to start knitting and garedning and anything else old people are expected to do, we still have hopefully quite a few years left to enjoy life as we wish, rather than feeling like being chucked on the scrapheap

Lol, yes im old, 76 just gone,i posted a photo here a few weeks ago,i was so please, the cheek fillers dont look like cheekbones on me just a bit fuller cheeks, will add pic again, i have always looked after my skin, and hate my turkey neck, but it doesnt show on photo
I do not intend sitting and knitting and vegetating ,if i can help it, my health is good too

You look great!

I'm mid fifties but I feel the same as i did when I was 25. I suspect I look a fair bit older though. My sisters got my share of the good "genes", the bitches Grin

I would love to have some work done but I am too scared (and too tight ha) so I work hard on what I can make the most of (hair, clothes etc) and I tell myself no one likes me any less because I look like a middle aged woman which is precisely what I am.

I did recently have some work done on my teeth which has hugely boosted my confidence so I do agree with you.

princessTiasmum · 23/03/2019 14:05

Thank youCharlotte oops shouldnt call you that lol.yes i think whatever your age, anything that makes you feel better, have more confidence is fine
I hate to hear people say, [shouldnt be doing whatever at their age] everyone needs to feel good about themselves, and sometimes we seem to melt into the ether as we get older

My sense of identity has never been based upon looks. I have a loving family and friends who all accept me as I am.

Ithin it's awful how much pressure we are put under to look young rather than accepting that getting older is natural and with it comes wisd and experience

princessTiasmum · 23/03/2019 15:36

How you feel about yourself depends on a lot of things, maybe lack of confidence due to relationship breakdowns, previous health problems etc, and not everyone has a strong support from family and friends
Also its not necessarily to look younger, but to look as good as you can whatever age you are,and appearance helps sometimes, can give people a boost
I would rather see people looking after themselves, even if they might go a bit far, than letting themselves go to pot,
