Mineral Make-up Help

I am trying to switch more natural beauty products. Lily and Lolo was recommended to me on here. I've bought some sample pots and tried a few things out. The problem I have is I have very dry skin. I don't think the mineral foundation powder really suits me. I prefer a heavier coverage and it just looks a bit dry. Maybe I need to try the BB cream underneath? Or maybe there is a different brand that is suitable? The lily Lolo appealed because the price range was so affordable. My sister used to use Jane Iredale and now uses Saavy minerals by young living which she recommends but they are a lot more money. I have savvy minerals Mascara and I don't really like it... Main thing I'm looking for is a new foundation. What do you knowledgeable Mumsnetters recommend?

What primer are you using?

Do I need a primer? I'm totally clueless!

I cleansed, then sprayed rose water toner, then hyaluronic serum, then moisturizer. Then put the mineral foundation on top of that. Is the bb cream considered a primer? Today I did actually do a matte finishing powder underneath but yesterday didn't. Couldn't see much difference.

This is just foundation. No bronzer/blush lipstick or anything. I don even think you can tell I'm wearing make up... although maybe that's the point??? Confused

So I went on a natural beauty bent a few years ago and tried everything out there. What I realised is that mineral foundation is rubbish for my skin. It breaks me out, the coverage is shit and it's orange or pink or weird looking or so so shiny. Also those powder formulas .... how much do you inhale?!

And then there is the fact that most people use a chemical sunscreen and so wtf is the point of putting a so-called natural (mostly full of mica and talc) foundation on top?

gigi556 · 22/03/2019 09:31

@Elllllle Lol!

Well I am actually really impressed with lily & Lolo's color range. It's just such a light coverage and I'm not used to it... It's a shame I don't have a before pic. I rarely use sunscreen as I don't see the point in the UK. I only really use sunscreen if I'm out in the sun all day. I also tend to use the natural sunscreens .

Is it so light that you might as well wear nothing? Not being facetious, I havent tried that brand!
