Reworking existing wardrobe

Are there any Instagram accounts or blogs etc which any of you would recommend to help me rework/reimagine items in my existing wardrobe? I've banned myself from buying new items since early Jan in an attempt to be more sustainable and I've actually quite enjoyed it. I've caved this week and bought a few "new" bits but all second hand off eBay so not new to me. Anyway, I've got things like a navy sleeveless jumpsuit with a silver pinstripe that I'd like to dress down and wear more often but I'm crap at that sort of thing. There must be accounts out there of clever folk who can inspire me?

Sorry, Op, I've no ideas but I'll happily hang out here for some ideas too.

You could search Pinterest . Try “ sleeveless jumpsuit outfit” and it will give you lots of further options like “ floral “ or “ summer”.

Loads of inspiration on notbuyingnew (albeit not re jumpsuits) but I've scheduled Friday whilst I'm waiting in for a delivery to do a proper wardrobe cull and sort (inc shoes) to start making better use of what I've got. I've already got a few outfit ideas planned.

Incidentally, this is the jumpsuit. I dressed it up with yellow wedges and a statement necklace for a drinks party but think a long sleeved white t-shirt, white trainers (Stan Smith type but actually not as I have stupidly wide feet so limited in where I can buy footwear from) and my denim jacket might do for starters.

Follow the hashtag lentreinvent a few people are doing 'shop your wardrobe' for Lent.

GemmeFatale · 21/03/2019 08:23

I think the jumpsuit would look great with trainers and a denim jacket. You could do flat sandals in summer and maybe funky boots until it warms up (hard to tell what weight the fabric is and if both would work)

lightningstrikes · 21/03/2019 09:18

I don't think I would put anything under it, but maybe a cropped jumper over? Then denim jacket and trainers would be fab.

FleurNancy · 21/03/2019 11:39

Thanks all, I'll give that hashtag a follow too, cheers.

I’m doing #lentreinvent - it’s more about breaking the shopping cycle for me, but what has become really clear is that I don’t want to wear the things I don’t often wear, so they are now in a bag for the Red Cross.

Re the jumpsuit, a cropped jumper over it sounds lovely, but would be a huge pain toilet-wise. Could you wear a slim denim shirt under it? Incidentally, I have horribly wide feet (also small feet, so a double nightmare) and have many pairs of Stan Smiths, so they are worth a try.

FleurNancy · 21/03/2019 18:28

Hmm, I'm not really the cropped jumper type tbh (bit dumpy round the middle...) and yes, I had forgotten about the toileting nightmare of jumpsuits!! Tomorrow is scheduled for Wardrobe Reinvention Day so I'll try a few variants on and hopefully get a few outfits out of it. One wear in 8 months is not what I'm aiming for!
