Microdermabrasion - worth it?

I’m considering microdermabrasion. My skin is not too bad, just sometimes congested and can be a little dull. I’d like to give it a boost. Those who have had it - what did you have it for? Did you get the results you were after? How many sessions did it take to notice any difference (if you did notice a difference).

Thanks 😊

I had a few sessions and to be honest found it a waste of money, I hoped it would freshen my complexion and maybe help with some light scarring- nope. I use Boots No7 microdermabrasion scrub twice a week now and like the way it leaves my skin a bit smoother. It’s on offer right now so I stocked up.

I think a lot depends on your age and type of skin for lots of treatments but for me it did nothing.

Thank you. That’s a shame it didn’t work. Did you notice any difference or nothing at all? And do you remember how many sessions you had or at what intervals?

I think I had 4 or 5 sessions, I don't recall how far apart tbh but not a huge gap, possibly every 2 weeks. Honestly, no I saw no difference at all. Maybe a little smoother for a day or two. Nothing longer term.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve heard similar from others and then on the other hand some people really rate it.

The boots microdermabrasion scrub is well worth a try first x

I've had it maybe a few times/year for a few years (there is a cheap place locally)

It's effective for me - 41, oily skin w some wrinkles and blackheads. I get it mainly to help with decongesting the blackheads?
I feel like it helps sandblast the top layer of wrinkles off, and removing the dead skin makes serums work better

I had a Crystal Clear facial a few years ago and was happy with the results.
But that was before Acid Toners we're available and I suspect you'd get the same results with those or a home peel mask.

Thank you all! I use a glycolic toner and I’ve tried at home microdermabrasion. I was hoping I’d get better results from a professional microdermabrasion - but probably the only way to find out is to try it myself. The other option is to get a light peel, maybe that’s more effective?!

what about dermablading? I've heard that's good.

I've had 2 microdermasion's now, 4 weeks apart and i feel my top layer of old skin (the one that was making my skin look dry and grey) has now gone and have slightly better smoother skin. i think they can also alter the strength of the dermabrasion the more your skin needs.

It's not miraculous but i've seen a slight improvement after 2 and am due in a week for another
