Like converse...but with some support!

I love my cons. Unfortunately my feet don’t and I need more support.
I vaguely look about and I can’t see anything I don’t hate. I want to wear something that doesn’t make me look too Middle Aged but supports my crappy feet.
Any help?

£200???

butmumineedit · 18/03/2019 02:57

How about Superga, I find them more supportive than cons. Have had mine for about 8 yrs and still look new and very comfy.

Mominatrix · 18/03/2019 02:59

Golden Goose Superstars? Cool looking and with good support, although they do make the New Balance look cheap.

DubiousGoals · 18/03/2019 19:04

Vans For the Makers - I have the hi-tops, comfy, supportive and not middle aged (I think anyway!)

Urgh2019 · 18/03/2019 19:10

£200 is a bit much...

Thanks - have had to google them all as I am so out of touch!

I love the golden goose!

Could you get insoles for your converse?

SandAndSea · 18/03/2019 19:26

I need to know this too. I've got some Vans but they're not supportive enough either.

emma6776 · 18/03/2019 19:37

I love either Mint Velvet or Geox leather trainers. They both look cool enough so kind as you don’t tell people where you got them!

I like these Allbirds trainers. Meant to be really comfy (or get your money back).

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 18/03/2019 20:15

i buy the running shoe insoles from ALdi or lidl....way cheaper option than £200 :o

just watch if you have any of the more pointy toe converse as it can make them a bit tight until worn in.

Urgh2019 · 18/03/2019 20:15

My cons don’t have enough room inside for insoles.

i like vans and find them more supportive and a tiny bit smarter and thicker soled than cons

BikeRunSki · 18/03/2019 20:27

PF Flyers are exactly this - Converse type
trainers but with support. The PF stands for Posture Foundation. I can’t find a UK website, but here is the US one.

PF Flyers

Urgh2019 · 18/03/2019 20:33

I LOVE them!! I don’t think they go small enough for my feet though.
They would be perfect...

EmmaGrundyForPM · 18/03/2019 20:47

Op they are in US sizes which are different to UK sizes. I'm a 7.5 in the UK and a 10 in US. My sister is a 4.5 in the UK an d a 6.5 in the US

BikeRunSki · 18/03/2019 20:52

Don’t forget that US sizes are 2 numbers bigger than the UZ equivalent. The smallest PF size seems to be US5.5, so UK3.5.

Urgh2019 · 18/03/2019 21:32

Oh awesome!

Vans seem to be doing a new range with thicker soles. Superga aren’t bad. Adidas Gazelles are classics as well.

billybullshitterz1 · 18/03/2019 22:02

I've just bought these bad boys! I appreciate I may be heading for a mid life crisis, but boy they are supportive. Airmax 95

Not exactly the same as converse but in the same kind of vein....www.clarks.co.uk/c/Hidi-Holly/p/26138882

ViserionTheDragon · 18/03/2019 22:21

Another vote for Superga here. Much better than Converse!

Urgh2019 · 18/03/2019 22:22

I like those Clark’s ones too

I'm having a teenage throwback with a couple of pairs of Adidas superstars at the moment, I love them. So warm and bouncy compared to my superga. I have some plain white with silver stripes and black/leopard print ones. The shell toes make me very happy. 😁
