Trinny London

Is anyone using Trinny London?

I'm currently stalking online and doing the match 2 me. The problem is that I don't trust my own opinion of what my colouring is. None of the lovely "tribe" look like me.

I'm interested in the bbf eye and the lip in Lady J.

Any reviews or advice would be gratefully received.

I've bought the BFF cream, face finish bslm lip blur and most of the lipstick products.

They're nice but not anything different from other ranges, a bit Avon meets Rosie for M&S is how I'd describe the range.

The lip colours are all nice formulas and all wearable colours.

MsMustDoBetter · 16/03/2019 13:49

That doesn't sound very special for the price!

I tried the lip/cheek colour cha-cha I found it really drying and the colour didn't suit me at all. Love the Wisdom eyeshadow it goes on well and lasts quite well. Now I can get Milk makeup in the UK I don't really use Trinny.

Wouldn't use it as a point of principle.
Funded by Charles Saatchi.

Trinny Woodall has revealed that she has taken a big financial risk with the make-up business she started in 2016.

Speaking to the Sunday Times Magazine, Trinny explained that despite £2.7m in financial backing from numerous investors - including her multi-millionaire art dealer boyfriend Charles Saatchi - she has concerns that if the company fails she will be left with 'nothing'.

I’ve recently bought frimher website. I haven’t had a chance to open the products yet.

The hype seems to have really died down, I can’t see them lasting at all.

However, having followed Trinity on Istagramfor a long time now, I admire her work ethic and am certain she has safeguarded her assets and she and her daughter won’t be left destitute however the business pans out.

*Apologies for typos

I didn't know that she was going out with Charles Saatchi.

She needs to worry about losing more than just money! It takes a long time to get your self esteem back after being with a man like that!!

I thought I’d update this thread now I’ve had a chance to try the products.

First off I used the Match 2 Me so I bought the tecommded products.

The colours are completely wrong. Some are too dark, some are too pale. The consistency is nice. I am struggling to find something positive to say about them.

They are expensive but when the colours are totally wrong for me, they are wastefulky expensive. The company can say the products ‘should’ suit me all they want. They simply don’t. My lips have lost a lot of their natural pinkness. The lip product I bought looks like I am wearing foundation. . I am very disappointed. My advice is not to buy without trying first. I have no recourse and unusable products. Don’t buy.

Ms I don't know where you live but the range is sold in Fenwicks on Bond Street and there was a pop up store in Selfridges (I think it's still there) if you are in/around/can get to London easily. Trinny's twitter usually updates with the latest info.

SlipperOrchid · 29/03/2019 14:30

I will never buy this range again. It is beyond disappointing. I cannot see ANY reason why anyone would buy this instead of BB/MAC etc.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/03/2019 16:26

I've been looking at this range on Instagram, sooo expensive for very little product by the looks of it. I couldn't work out my colours either ,good job and saved myself some pennies by the sounds of things.

DarlingCoffee · 29/03/2019 18:17

I’m going to go against the grain here and say I really like them! They are expensive but the products last a long time, are easy to apply and the match to me usually works pretty well. You can also stack them - so they are also easy for travelling. The lip2cheek are my favourites. I have eight pots of them and use them over other brands now.

SlipperOrchid · 29/03/2019 18:24

In fairness they are not any easier to apply than any other product if you already apply makeup with your fingers. And the stacking thing is gimmicky. It really is not a reason to buy these products.

From reading many reviews the Match 2 Me is frequently unsuccessful. I wish I had read them before I spent over £100!!!!!

As for the face and lip product go to Other Stories and buy the same thing for £10.

Or if you have pockets full of money go ahead and buy Trinny London and learn the hard way!

MsMustDoBetter · 30/03/2019 10:19

After being super excited and constantly adding things to my basket - I've totally gone off the idea due to the responses, so thank you all for saving me some money.

I've also stopped following on social media - so I'm no longer brainwashed by the clever marketing.

I might have a look if when I'm next in London, but I really took note of what Sali Hughes said - essentially there are much better individual products to cherry pick from.

I also stopped following her on Instagram after she went to India with her daughter riding elephants and posted a video. They looked miserable and badly treated and of course it's really cruel. She just seems so self absorbed. The next day she visited an elephant sanctuary as she had no idea how the elephants suffer, it just seemed to be a PR visit to turn round the huge amount of negative comments she received.

Alwayshopeful10 · 08/09/2019 11:10

I've bought three of the eyeshadow from match to me and only two suited. I find them quite dark/made me look washed out. One of the match lip colours wasnt great either. They also tend to disappear very quickly. Expensive mistakes.

Sasa2019 · 18/09/2019 10:11

I have bought quite a few of Trinny’s products, I really love the BFF, BFF Eye and JAT - these are great. I also love a lip colour called Sacha. However, I’ve regretfully spent a truckload on other items as I got caught up in the hype. I won’t be buying again in a hurry for a few reasons. The first being it is expensive and there are other brands MAC, Charlotte Tilbury, Rimmel that outpower the lip, cheek and eye products. The TL products are not long lasting, the gloss is a joke - I’ve tried all techniques and they simply don’t last. The other reason is that I’m less than impressed over how how they have handled things like the miracle blur issue which looked dodgy in the pot with loads of customer complaints only to receive a wordy and vague response which is the norm to any product questions or challenges. I respect Trinny doesn’t get sponsored which is why I followed her but given the lack of performance on the products, high cost and less than satisfactory customer service I’d rather shop elsewhere. I’m not gone completely but I’ll stick to what works I’m not a total convert.
