Your experiences of botox?

I've got a very pronounced vertical line between my eyebrows, and I'm seriously considering botox/fillers/whatever they suggest, to get it sorted out.

I would be interested to hear from anyone who has had botox, were you pleased with the results?

Yes had it and yes pleased. Had it 3 times now and it just zaps my lines!

Wavedancer · 14/03/2019 13:45

I had botox for the same line as you describe. The guy doing it did warn me that my line was so deep, I’d only get a 50% improvement but I think it’s closer to 75%. It’s not gone completely but it’s much fainter now and I can cover it up pretty easily with makeup. I have no regrets and will definitely be back for more when it starts wearing off.

I’d recommend trying Botox before fillers as it’s a much gentler procedure.

Yes, love it, doesn't hurt, works brilliantly. I wish it lasted longer than 3 months but it definitely helps wrinkles fade away. Over time, they vanish completely.

Coffeepot72 · 14/03/2019 14:16

Thanks for the replies - so if for any reason I don't like the results, it fades/dissolves/disappears after a couple of months?

Order654 · 14/03/2019 14:28

It can take up to 4-6 months to completely dissolve.

I have Botox every 6 months ish and I love it.

HavelockVetinari · 14/03/2019 14:30

I have it every 6 months, it's brilliant!

Order654 · 14/03/2019 14:30

I have it in 2 places on my forehead. The lines you mention and my forehead.

It lasts up to 6 months for me and the lines I had have disappeared. I am young though at 29 and Iv been having it since I was 26. I started so early so that the lines wouldn’t be proper indented.

chickenalapesh · 14/03/2019 14:36

I've had it in 3 places and hated it. I like the effect but my gosh I swear I just had a headache the entire 2-3 months. Would never have it again!

Pooshy · 14/03/2019 14:37

I've been having it since I've had kids to counteract looking so tired

Love it, it just makes you look more fresh faced

babybotox · 14/03/2019 14:42

Can anyone recommend somewhere near Wimbledon?

Wavedancer · 14/03/2019 23:37

Here are some before and after pics (without any make-up). Relaxed face in both - I can really appreciate the difference when I see these side by side! I’m 44 btw.

I never thought I would be the type to have botox (whatever that means). But I had the same vertical line and I hated looking pissed off all the time.

I'm really happy with the effect. I also find it lasts ages, around 8 months for me.

AmIAWeed · 15/03/2019 07:31

I also had mine done in December, I had a top up last week. I was told not to have filler straight away as the muscles would essentially recreate the line. Having Botox first weakens the muscles and if it's still pronounced after a few sessions then go down the filler route.
For my it's worked well, although I noticed after 6 weeks if I was tired a little line would appear.
I'm hoping I won't need Botox every 3 months but again was warned I'd likely need it more regularly to start with.
The only word of warning. When people say once you start it's hard to stop, I totally get. In the same period I've had cheek fillers and I'm booked end of this month for a non surgical nose job using fillers.
The small changes have made me feel great. I hope though I know when to say enough is enough!!

GinandGingerBeer · 15/03/2019 08:44

Wow @Wavedancer that's amazing!
Was that after one treatment?

chesterfuckingdraws · 15/03/2019 08:55

I finally bit the bullet, I'm so pleased with the results. I look fresher and feel more comfortable in my skin.

Here's my before and after.

Wavedancer · 15/03/2019 09:04

@ Gin - Yes! Had it done for the first time 3 weeks ago. It took about 2 weeks to see the full effects. And I still have some movement in my forehead area, as I was keen to avoid the frozen look!

GinandGingerBeer · 15/03/2019 10:09

That's amazing @Wavedancer
I've been googling Botox near me ince I saw your pics Grin

cathyandclare · 15/03/2019 10:23

I tried a couple of times and I'm not a fan, I have hooded eyes and it made them look worse and I thought my eyebrows looked strange.

Having said that it did freshen up the crinkles around my eyes and looked totally natural. I'm nervous to try again tbh.

Pooshy · 15/03/2019 10:24

I see Dr Reid at Harley Medical Wimbledon

Lovely lady and very good

babybotox · 15/03/2019 10:42

Thank you @Pooshy

Delatron · 15/03/2019 10:54

cathyandclare I have hooded eyes and I found the same thing, instead of making me look ‘fresh’ I looked more tired and my eyebrows weren’t in the same place but I could work out whether they were higher or lower they were just ‘off’.

I went to a very well respected and experienced doctor so I’m wondering if it was just my face. I’m tempted to try again with someone different to see.

KatharinaRosalie · 15/03/2019 20:39

My doc recommended filler for the line - as it was more of a groove and not a wrinkle. It's all gone.

Coffeepot72 · 04/04/2019 10:30

I bit the bullet and went for my first session last night. The lady explained that as the groove between my eyebrows is quite deep, it make not disappear first time, but it should smooth out significantly in 10-14 days time. But my eye area definitely looks fresher this morning, even though its very early days. So I'm cautiously optimistic!
