Morning all,

To set the scene, I had my first dc almost 12 months ago and am going to be a sahm for the foreseeable. Gained 3.5 stone during pregnancy and have lost just over 2. Last stone is going to be a work in progress and anything after that a bonus!
My shape has changed a lot, I feel like my waist is higher and more defined from my very wide hips, bust still much bigger but also much saggier, thanks bfeeding!

I’ve got a date set in April with a friend to go on a shopping day and she is going to entertain my ds and support me going into grown up shops again!
My current wardrobe is 1 pair of skinny jeans, one casual dress, 1 smart dress, several long sleeve tops and an array of frumpy scarves.

I have invested in a nice pair of knee high leather boots and a decent coat so I don’t feel like a total bag lady when out and about.

The underneath however I could really do with some help with!

To visit list so far is bravissimo for new non nursing infrastructure. M&S for a stash of new camis as I like my back to stay covered if I’m sitting on the floor (which is most of the time).
After that I’m stuck!
I’ve worn what I have to death, debobbled it and looked after it but I’m now dangerously close to holes in crutches and armpits.
Took the plunge for new hair cut at Christmas and really like the make up I use so from the neck up I feel quite confident.

If you’ve read this far thank you!

I’m horrified at spending that much but dh is encouraging me to actually sort my wardrobe out and I don’t want to waste an opportunity going on an hours drive with childcare help.

I’d buy some M&S jeggings in a couple of colours (lots of stretch for getting up & down off the floor, and keep their shape well)
Some fashionable trainers, probably Veja.
A chunky knit long cardigan.
Couple of slogan tshirts.
A new colourful crossbody bag to keep phone, keys & purse in.
Some nice earrings from Oliver Bonas or & Other Stories.
Decent sandals for summer.

Thank you, I have only ever worn trainers to play badminton but my accomplice has many pairs so hopefully she can help!
Cross body bag is s great idea, my whole personality seems to get wedged into the nappy bag these days.

I know what you mesn about trainers. Maybe try Converse instead?
A biker or utility jacket would be a good buy, too.

First thing - your husband books a days leave to look after his DS to give you a relaxed day out with your friend ....

SundayLunchHappy · 12/03/2019 13:43

No need to take a day off, I love taking ds out and friend is his godmother. Dh does plenty of dad time flying solo! Days off are for family holidays.

Converse type shoes might be better, a bit less intimidating than wearing trainers iyswim.

I'm going to be doing a similar type shop soon, and I am so excited!

I'm a casual dresser, I like jeans and t shirts but they have to fit well so I don't look like a bag lady. I'm a sahm and do lots of walking so need clothes to be practical and comfortable.

I'm thinking:

a few pairs of skinny jeans that have a lot of stretch in. I think high waisted fit me well, as I have short legs and am pear shaped.

T shirts - plain or sloganned. Uniqlo do some really nice printed t shirts.

Nice lace up patent shoes from clarks

Trainers - converse look great but have no support so I will personally go for Nike or something similar

Boyfriend fit cardigan.

I’d do a lot of looking online first so I didn’t go home at the end of the day disappointed!

Top of list for me would be a Dublin jacket and a leather biker jacket.
