Eyelash extensions

I fancy getting some. Had some once, last year, found them irritating, but have moved to a new area and am going to a different beauty salon now. Do they damage your own lashes? Can they make your own lashes fall out?

Have you thought about a lash lift and tint/LVL? I had one recently and was v pleased with the result. Even the beautician said extensions are a nightmare to have because they take so long and require maintenance but LVL is just using/enhancing what you already have.

I had a set of Russian Volume lash extensions, starting in December and then three sets of infills (a set every three weeks).

The technician came recommended, had all the right certificates on the wall, and I took care of them as instructed.

And yet my own eyelashes are awful now. Really stumpy and horrid. I've stopped having them, and am hoping that my own eyelashes can get back to how they were ASAP.

I had long but sparse eyelashes before trying extensions. Now my eyelashes are short and sparse. I wouldn’t advise them but I sure liked how they looked at the time.

Thanks all for your replies. Think I'll stick to lash lengthening mascaras x

I've had lash extensions permanently for about 7 years now. I wouldn't ever be without them now.

For me, it's about not having to bother with make up to cancel out the effects of very broken sleep for 4 years.

I’ve had them a couple of times. First time found them annoying and then second time went somewhere else (more expensive!) and they were great. So worth trying them again! I didn’t notice much damage but think I would stick to getting them as a treat/for a holiday etc.

TSSDNCOP · 11/03/2019 20:30

I’ve had them and the reason my own got damaged was due to the irresistible urge to pick them off. Much better to ease off with Vaseline.

I recently had strip lashes applied at the Benefit counter; they were amazing and cost £15.

I know where I’m heading in future!

I'd absolutely recommend LVL. I've had extensions a few times and found them so annoying, I've had LVL and absolutely love it though.
