Warm waterproof boots

FusionChefGeoff · 09/03/2019 22:45

Despite my best efforts, it looks like I'm going to be standing on touch lines in all weathers Sad

My feet freeze in wellies - plus it's not usually THAT muddy. But my lovely toasty uggs will be ruined in the rain.

Any recommendations for brands / shops for decent WARM waterproof boots that still look vaguely stylish with jeans?!

Budget healthy as I expect these to last a decade at least!!

I'm interested too. The options I have found are either £400 (ouch), which i love, or something that doesn't appeal. Will watch with interest!

Sorrel
Merrell

FusionChefGeoff · 10/03/2019 07:54

Wow yes by healthy I was thinking £150-200, £400 would be eye watering! I'll check out those 2 suggestions thank you. Any more?

Dubarry? Or Dublin do a good cheaper version. Check out track shops for horsey people as they do a lot of standing assertions in cold wet mud!

Fairylea · 10/03/2019 08:00

Fake fur lined doc martens? They’re about £140 ish and super warm.

rubyred38 · 10/03/2019 08:05

I have these Dublin ones there really comfy and look nice with my all my jeans.
I think mine where around £200 Mark but I've had them for years now there really long lasting hope this helps.

HundredMilesAnHour · 10/03/2019 14:12

I have these from Sorel and they're great. Comfy, warm and keep my feet dry as they're waterproof.

tilder · 10/03/2019 15:31

Yes, the £400 is why I haven't bought themGrin

Lots of country sport and equestrian shops do boots. I just want something that looks like a normal boot, no plastic, rubber or fleece. Will keep watching.

What style are you looking for FusionChefGeoff?

greenpop21 · 10/03/2019 19:14

I walk my dog daily in all weathers and I could be walking on air since I bought my Peter Storm Snowden boots. They are walking boots but brown leather and look ok with skinny jeans. I don't really care anyway because my feet are insulated and dry.

feltcarrot · 10/03/2019 19:16

I have some leather waterproof emu boots from QVC, not the prettiest looking things but kept my feet warm and dry this winter.

haggis81 · 10/03/2019 19:16

Blundstones?

FusionChefGeoff · 10/03/2019 22:23

I'd like a leather outer, probably brown, high but not riding boot high.

The horse shops idea is genius!!

Ruby doesn't the suede go a bit manky if they get muddy?

I have actually found the perfect pair but I can only find them in size 4 or 9!!!

Sorry for the multiple replies I keep posting too soon!

The Peter storm ones are too 'hiking' boot and a bit short but I'll check out if they do any other styles.

I have these

www.trespass.com/salvatore-womens-casual-boots

Use them for walking in the mud / rain when I'm on terrain that doesn't require hiking boots but I also want to stay warm and dry!

JaneEyre07 · 10/03/2019 22:39

DM Rosa boots. www.amazon.co.uk/Dr-Martens-Womens-Safety-Boots/dp/B00IH9WH4I?tag=mumsnetforum-21

I use mine year round unless it's really wet/muddy then I put my Aigle wellies on.... they are also the best thing since sliced bread. Keep your feet super warm and toasty to -24c or similar.

Timberland Mukluk boots will fit the bill if they still make them... I got mine a few years ago and they're soooo cosy.

RomaineCalm · 10/03/2019 23:05

I have a pair of £££ Dubarry boots that I love, that keep my feet warm and dry and that look great with skinny jeans tucked into them

However my favourites are my Merrill boots. Waterproof, warm and super cosy. I have worn them in all weathers and they still look good. Far more comfortable than my expensive Dubarrys.

tilder · 11/03/2019 07:26

Those high Merrell ones BikeRunSki are the closest I've seen. I wouldn't get away with the fleece lining at the top though, too casual.

professionalnomad · 11/03/2019 09:42

I second emu

I have a pair of their waterproof merino lined boots and they are both functional and stylish

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 16/03/2019 17:59

I have a pair of Dubarry Sligo boots. Stylish warm (I wear boot socks too) and waterproof. Not cheap but truly amazing and apparently they last forever you take care of them.

Winenotttea · 16/03/2019 19:28

I’ve got some Dubarrys (ex horse owner lol) and whilst I love them I wouldn’t say that they are particularly warm, particularly if you are standing around as opposed to walking.
