My hair was quite damaged a few months ago. My hairdresser told me to stop using so much heat, stop using hair bands and use a conditioning treatment once a week.

I use the olaplex conditioner and aveda treatment.

I've stopped using my normal hairdryer, bought a dyson airwrap. Only use striaghterns once a week as I have found a silicone product that keeps it straight

The result is my hair has grown, its thicker and healthier.

Definitely invest in some products, stop using so much heat and stop using hair bands.

There's no product that you can put on your hair to make it grow more. Eat more healthy fats, avocado is suppose to work well. Then as the PP said, don't damage your hair so no dye, no straighteners, no hairdrying, no products.

Try Mane n Tail Shampoo and Conditioner Smile

Nioxin and Alpecin are supposed to stimulate the scalp

Try co-washing, my longish, dyed hair is soft and shiny because I only use shampoo every third wash. Try a sulphate- free shampoo for fragile hair too.

@jeaux90 what is the silicone product that keeps it straight? I'd love to try that!

alwaysncxx · 09/03/2019 22:11

I second Pp @haverhill, only using shampoo sometimes does wonders

Mane n Tail shampoo and conditioner deep moisturising it’s done wonders for my hair!!

Nothing will make your hair grow from the root quicker, but you could reduce breakage which could help.

Forget the silicone based product suggestions. They only scaffold the damage so it’s gonna break in a few weeks anyway - it also can build up and act as a barrier for moisture.
Mane and tail is the one to keep far far away from on that note! And heat melts silicone into your hair, bad news long term!

Silicones aren’t always bad, short term via conditioner , but you need to clarify regularly.

Sulphate free is the way to go really.
Coconut oil is great in raw form.
Reducing hair sprays (drying)
Reducing heat

@Kindness its colour wow dream coat. Amazing product. Spray it in your hair. It's heat activated but I only have to use it occasionally. Worth using a detox shampoo occasionally with it.

I'd also recommend the olaplex conditioner if your hair is dry and curly like mine

Mane and tail is unreal. I have thin hair that was falling out in clumps. Since using this i have no fall out and getting new baby hair also supplement this with biotin capsules, and an array of vitamins. Folic acid, vitamin e etc have attached a pic so you can see what i mean. The baby hair growth has cone on in just 2 month from nothing.

My hair is fine and snaps easily. I can't use any oil based products to strengthen it because it is also lank and greasy.
I've been using Charles Worthington Grow Strong products because they are protein based rather than oil based.
Can't honestly say I've noticed much difference in hair loss/ snappage yet but, since it does a good job as a shampoo/ conditioner anyway, I'm prepared to stick with it longer term. It would take any product a long time to have an effect on this problem.
Tempted by idea of biotin supplements ... but then don't they encourage ALL your body hair to grow faster and stronger??? I spend a lot of time trying to get rid of most hair that's not on my head!!!

Imacliche · 10/03/2019 08:28

Vanya not that ive noticed. Also added bonus my nails are alsp growing super fast and strong from it. Castor oil rubbed into the scalp is also amazing.
